Can we add a counsellor or seer?

can we add a counsellor or seer that will be able to initiate more events? Or have them scheduled daily on a timer?

There must be one of the old boys club that's trustworthy enough to hold this position, no? No powers only enough to press play.

So many times there are enough people to start a CTF event and are begging for it and there is no-one able to click the button.

I appreciate the idea that you need to be in control of your server but PvP is getting harder and harder to find at any given time. As the ideas proposed here meant to improve or centralize PvP generally fall on deaf ears, I feel like a scheduled CTF or a more accessible CTF would encourage more players to engage in PvP.

Yes, CTF is not fluid or traditional but as we all have differing play styles and different time zones in an ever shrinking population, this seems as the only quick fix, legitimate solution.

It's a bandaid on a larger issue but a bandaid isn't always a bad thing.

I know there are lots of people who want CTFs back on a schedule. Nobody plays the ones that happen now because they A) happen way too late and B) aren't scheduled. Give someone access to start them, on the schedule. By keeping them to the schedule, there's no "extra" powers.

I mean midnight EST is okay for guys in Hawaii but the rest of us that have jobs and stuff, it's tough to stay up for, and it's always spur of the moment.

Also if it's a really good CTF match and people are begging for a second round, generally there is no chance of that it just shuts down.

I like the scheduling idea.

I say Tuesday Nights at 10pm EST and Saturday Nights 10pm EST.

I don't like the impromptu que Idea as much @wylwrk. If I que up and have to wait HOURS and HOURS for a match, I might not be inclined to join when it actually does start.

If we limit the number of CTF matches a week and Schedule it at a specific time, people can make it a priority to be there and be ready.

Weren't the old CTFs on a schedule? I remember them multiple times a day around the same times.

Its hard for me to join CTFs in general.
Theyre usually scheduled pretty late (unless Weekends) and Telamon has to trigger them by hand.
Unfortunately it never run on an automated schedule for the past 3 years im playing here...

In my opinion it would need some things to make it more appearing:

1. Fully Automation so chris dont need to trigger it by his own
2. Adapted times (i was thinking about placing it around 6PM EST, which is ~12PM for Europeans)
3. Just one queue and random team distribution with temporary incog for all participants to make teams even

Ive been waiting for stuff like that to happen since forever now and im 100% convinced that it would be EXTREMELY helpful in general to get some more pvp going, and motivate people, especially new players, to join the fights and try out pvp!

Im not ranting here... but this is seriously a productive idea which will be worth the programming / time investment in the long run @Chris

If it is automated why stop at one? Do a day and evening one. Like one 11am and one at 9pm. There is activity during the day, granted not as much as prime time, should still be able to get enough to get teams together.

Because if they are too frequent, people will get bored and it will turn into a bunch of failed CTF events.

Nah, when we did them frequently years ago there was never a failed event. Also, if they are scheduled at two opposite times of day, that covers people that play during day and night. People cannot get bored if they don't have the opportunity to play. Plus...

If you build it they will come is better but that is the best I can do. Honestly though, when they were held regularly many people would log on just to participate.
