Howdy everyone, Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction of a rune library that possessed a runebook(s) for dungeon chests? Just hit 94.9 Lockpicking and it's time to start stealthing around some dungeons to chip away at the remaining 5.1 points. I did a forum search and there was a lockpicking training house that had a public runebook library for these spots but upon venturing - the runebooks are no longer there. And if any dungeon pickers have any advice I'd love to hear it, I've never had a character with these skills before but I'm excited to get picking in the dungeons. And definitely die. Thank you!
You don't need to die. My way is: LP Hiding Stealth Magery Meditation Get a hold of the locations (pretty sure KoS rune lib near Yew has them). Cast gate to location Hide Double click gate Stealth to chest (if necessary) Pick chest Stealth one step away from chest (There MUST be one tile free between you and the chest) Open chest (trap goes off but you take no damage) Loot whatever you want (I looted gold, regs, gems, masks and scrolls, the rest is pretty much junk) Recallback to rune library. Location I remember off the top of my head: Deceit Lich Lords Destard Ancient Wyrm Hyth Balrons Thera Keep Balrons Covetous Dragon den Shame Water Ele islands Fire Temple Fire dungeon (mage tower) ... Been too long since I GMed can't remember really, but This thread has them all.
That has answered every one of my questions and then some! Thank you very much @Pirul 10/10 - solid advice would thank again. 10/10 - speedy delivery. Hah
I had much fun crawling each dungeon level by level, picking each chest, and updating my UOAM with a personal file.... and marking my own books, of course. A new player with (here it comes) limited resources could use the Dungeon Fairy travel service to facilitate some of the labor... with risk as just like anything else, of course. G'luck either way. Oh, don't neglect Khaldun. Every dungeon thief should visit often if not, at least once for some special puzzles to solve.
My stealther is training Remove traps, skill 75 now I think, and also tinkering (around 85)and are making explotion traps now. I paused the script and did not remember if he had removed the trap or not and it is just an ordinary middle explotion trap so I opened the chest standing next to it. Did that help in any way that it wasn't a greater explotion? He blown himself to pieces. Instantly Even the Ocllo rune library has lvl 4 chest locations. Its just west of Ocllo Stable, next to it. So what will happen with hiding when the chest goes off if you decide to take a step back and just open it?? Will he get revealed?
Confirmed just a second ago in Hyloth. 1 tile away, opened a chest I had just picked, trap went off but no damage and stayed hidden. I then forgot to hit stealth again and revealed myself to the monsters within and died but hey - the chest didn't kill me!
Weird, is this the same if you're invisible via spell and click on the trapped chest, or only if you're hidden via hiding skill? There is also a good lockpicking section in the rune library next to the Cove front gate.
Weird as in the chest has a 1 tile blast radius hidden or not. For immersive purposes think of it as monster technology just isn't up to snuff with Sosarian tinker tech. Damn, this thread has me itching to hop on a rogue and dungeon crawl again. Sheepdog, Dungeon Fairy challenges you to tell the tale of Khaldun... for a reward, of course.
Well it is close that I quit training Remove traps but I will not give up that easy with this char, well not untill he neds another skills better that is.
@wylwrk Challenge accepted! *empties back pack of everything except recall regs, rune and lock picks*
Wait - I forgot you can't even recall in or out from there hahaha. Whatever, means my pack is even lighter. Shit. I still accept the challenge.
Make sure to check for rares while you're down there! A large pot of wax and tall candelabra can be found in Khaldun. Dungeon pickers can make for great rare hunters too if you add on stealing to your template.
I just told the ancient liches to be expecting a visit... they'll be "looking" for you. They give the bestest hugs!
I reckon this endeavour would be a hundred times easier with a blessed runebook fully charged up. Might need to wait till I make a spare 2.5 mil. I will genuinely give this a crack tonight though, I have two characters with GM stealth to handle the switches. I'm well good at puzzles though. Once did a 1000 piece baked bean puzzle out of spite. BOOM.
