I'd prefer not to see these as they're a harsh reminder of the atrocities that AoS introduced, but if staff does implement these I'd hope they're only available in a few select hues, similar to the defensive cloaks/robes.
I would much rather see Arcane Robes and Cloaks, in decorative form only (no magic properties). I have no problem with Death Shrouds but they would have to be set hues and very finite in hue range, so as not to be abused by players trying to imitate staff.
Random thought: Maybe we could "earn" it via setting then hitting a reasonable objective that benefits the server in some sort of constructive way? Recruitment drive? Public Broadcasting style pledge drive? Stop being a pack of whiney tardaloons on the forums for awhile?
You could always do the Shroud Hood instead of the entire shroud. That way you could wear it with other clothing, or a traditional robe to give it the shroud effect. You're Welcome
This is a cool idea but you know the last one won't happen Does this server get new stuff often? I just got here during Easter..
Well here goes my first forum post for one of my all time favorite items!! I have been very curious why there is no death shrouds or hooded shrouds in this amazing shard. There are plenty of super cool ideas all of you have came up with...Could we please get a reply from a staff member if this is in any future plans? It would be really awesome if this was a platinum reward, exceptionally rare item for people putting in the time and effort. Bump!
I've seen this mentioned on forums before and I agree. The death shrouds are cool! I could see it being an extremely rare tailor BOD reward, or maybe even a cursed item as NOH drop! Both actually!
You can wear a shroud any time you want. Just hug this barrel of purple liquid and wait. It'll give you unique buffs too!
I would welcome this addition as it has a medieval-style feel to it that I appreciate. It would be excellent in some RP scenarios as well. Actually, I'd much prefer this to all the trammel get ups I see *goes back to sewing his own cloak out of sturdy wool to avoid that durn pitter patter*
These items have been discussed and at the moment a rough plan for their addition is in place. However they are clearly items from a later era, and they really end up looking horrible once 90% of the players on the server are wearing them. Our plan is to include them as incentive for players to engage in factions and achieve the upper ranks in the respective factions. (Rank 8-10). This would be included with our general faction revamp encouraging faction balance, order/chaos/faction hybrid guilds and much more. This would limit their use in the world, while providing an exceptional incentive for players to engage in, and excel at faction combat. Changes will be made to allow easier movement between factions based on the time you join, not the time you decide to leave with a portion of your faction points following with you. This of course is just a plan at the moment and is by no means a final solution. However this would be in line with the Renaissance policy of proper aesthetics and allowing a non standard item as part of the world in very limited quantity. Before any serious development on this change takes place there will be a discussion thread opened to discuss the changes.
Faction revamp!?!?!?!? 1) Put point decay in 2) Don't allow people to summon 20 guards around them like their some world of Warcraft raid boss spawning adds; it's fucking stupid On a side note.. telamons talking about factions!? Wow
Faction changes have been in the works for a while, it is just behind the CuB/Moat system. Most of the changes I mentioned are already coded. Just a bit more work on the hybrid guilds and then a period of player discussion on rank rewards. Btw point decay is in there, it is just very slow. That will be addressed as well.
lol, how slow could it possibly be that Delta Green is still second on the list in TB and Sandro's still second on Minax. If faction points decay it couldn't be more than 1 point a year considering those details. Kill points shouldn't follow you when you turncoat either. That's ridiculous. Talk about making it easier for people to bandwagon on dominant factions. lol
