lockable container, unlock spell/lock spell, place reagents within UO logic allows you to use regents from locked box If you're being hounded by a thief (identified in thieve's guild) just kill them. They can't give counts. If you fear you can't kill them, recall out and practice PvP until you can. Until then WE'D ALL APPRECIATE IT if you'd not claim "cheating" everytime someone gets over on you... especially thieves. We're nerfed enough already as it is. Apology accepted.
Just carry a wooden box and use magic lock on it. You can keep your regs, runes, and gold/plat in there. Keep bandages and pots in your main pack. Open wooden box > keep it open > magic lock the box > store items > don't close box. (make sure contents are heavy enough so you can't steal the whole box, regs normally suffice) So long as it remains magic locked you'll take the ability to steal items of value away.
No, you can steal specific things without having their pack open, as long as it's on lasttarget or you have a macro or something.
That's an interesting question. One that I think it's best for you (a thief) to try out on an alt. Set some macros to target irregular items by type like apples. Snoop and hit the steal apple by type macro. Now try it with apples in your own backpack also... what if there are apples on the ground? What happens if you don't snoop at all? The conclusion won't be as obvious as you are thinking I can promise you that, due to how the client caches what items are "seen". What happens if another player that you have snooped recently but recalled away and came back also had apples in their backpack and are on screen with you when you snoop and try to steal apples by type from a third player? And what would the outcome be if the same situation occurred but instead of going to delucia they just ran off screen.....
