No internet or power at my house but other than that, we've been doing alright. I get 1 bar of cell service at my house so I've been out of communication basically. This is the first day I could drive to my office - 4 miles away - with the streets flooding. I'll be back in game soon as the worst is over. Local forecast is calling for us to be on the opposite side of Harvey's center this afternoon. That will change the winds from pushing water onshore to pushing the water offshore. This will drain our bayous fast and allow the street flooding and neighborhood flooding to recede. C y'all soon!
Thanks for the replies all! Still no internet at home But many have it sooo much worse here. Still some neighborhoods flooding as all the dams and reservoirs around Houston have to release water before they fail. Plus a lot of water still working its way through Houston from North and West rains. Still raining in a few spots too. Be back as soon as I can!
Hey Everlast! Screwston TX represent! Be safe brother. Internet access soon hopefully. Are you going through withdrawal symptoms?
Hey man, didn't know you were in the storm. Glad to know you're well though! I hope you didn't suffer heavy damage or major loss. It's insane the coverage I've seen, hope it's moving forward for you by now.
Well, Dallas just started seeing effects from Hurricane Harvey. We didn't get weather, but we're seeing economic effects. A good portion of the gasoline in Texas comes from refineries that were hit by Harvey. I drove around this afternoon, and Dallas is starting to turn into a warzone. Gas prices are starting to go up fast, so people are all trying to fill their tanks before it goes up too much. This is causing gas stations to run out of fuel. People are lined up for many blocks trying to get to the pumps, and many are fighting at gas stations over their chances to get gas before the stations run dry. Lots of gas stations already are dry. Police and Homeland Security are patrolling gas stations to try to control fights and other crime. My boss at Papa John's just sent us all a text message saying that if too many drivers run low on gas, he'll have to shut down deliveries this weekend. I'm really not looking forward to seeing how bad this gets.
/me sends as much luck and as many good wishes as possible to Texas - I lived in Euless for 9 months when I was 5…
@Kirby, I just saw that report on our news. Gasoline is going to be scarce for a good portion of the Eastern half of the US until mid Sept according to the news. Buy oil stocks as oil has not gone up much yet! In fact, oil took a big hit during the storm and jumped up a little yesterday. Not sure what the reasoning is for any drop or expectation of drop in oil right now. After Katrina, oil went from $50 to $70, and Katrina had nowhere near the impact on O&G as Harvey has. I put all my available funds in a few oilers - MRO, AXAS, OAS, CHK, and HK this last week during what little internet I had Things are a little hectic here so my only game time is refreshing houses and picking up BODs lol. Next week.. maybe.. life will get back to some version of normal!
Every month, Papa John's employees have to watch training videos pertaining to that "Period". Every Period training video has a section they recently started called Brand Ambassadors. It features real PJ employees that have gone above and beyond the call of duty and encourages the employees watching to do better. The 2017 Period 11 video Brand Ambassadors are 2 PJ employees who did some amazing things despite the devastation brought about by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
