This is kind of horrible to me, I'm on test check fort and tower placements and I have to say the old way was much more convenient, so can we change it back lol

The throttle delay for using house deeds was put in place primarily as a means to keep server processing load minimal, but was also implemented to assist the anti-afk system in protecting against unattended house placement. Prior to the change, it was entirely possible to run a house placement loop (this cant be done with applications legal for Renaissance) with zero delay & successfully place a house within milliseconds after the existing structure decayed or was demolished.

Regarding the test server I don't see why there'd be an issue disabling the throttle there to ease house placement testing, but it is unlikely that we would remove the placement cool-down from the live server.

I just have trouble not only seeing where the large houses are landing exactly between the black out from holding it in certain places, and the house is bigger than my monitor thing. Even just being able to spam place on test to figure out if and where something goes would be a big help.

As long as you keep the mirror-image of the house which you're attempting to place away from your character's position on the middle of the screen & generally to the upper-right~ region of the game-window you shouldn't experience the flickering black-out you're describing.

You can force your game-window to a larger size using the Razor force-game-size option, though that would still depend on how large your actual monitor is for how effective that change would be. I'm personally using 924x700 & for the larger structures (keep/castle) it is still not possible to see the entire structure on screen when attempting to place it.

Now that we have addressed the issue with house placement processing overhead we will most likely reduce this a bit Shadow. Placing large houses has always been a challenge since the beginning of UO and one of the most effective methods for placement is to get some gold/tables and map out where you want to place the house, marking clearly where the steps will go. This way when placing you line up the steps to your markers and place. I used this method for years and it always served me well.
