@Valrick There are also guilds that keep their activities and whether they're active to themselves. I think just asking around regarding your particular interest is the best course. You never know, a guild you've never heard of might PM you, or someone might suggest talking to a character.
To set up in the West Hythloth hounds room you need two hiders to act as a wall (I was borrowing these from POT), then I had my healer healing me. i wasn't afking though, I was attended.
In the other room, people use two orcs provo'd on each other and stand behind a table. But that setup isn't possible in West room unfortunately. But it works well when the main room is taken. And all you gotta do is lure a leppy over there to clear your tames. lol
I don't know who killed you @Celestrael and why killed you... But if you have afk or attended macroers in a dungeon, where PK's make rounds; expect to get killed. Some people will kill you for your loot, some will kill for glory, some will kill just the count, some will kill just to delay skill gains, all of which are perfectly Fellucca based gameplay... I really dont really understand "I dont have anything valuable on me" phrase... What can you have? Couple of regs? Pots? Wands? All of which PK's are full off.. Noone carries on them valuable things.... PvPing and PK'ing is different as you know. PK's just want to kill... Don't look for any reasons. PvP'ers will only look for people who will fight back... Let's all remember the so much respected RRG here... (Since you joined in forums couple of days ago... Let me tell you who they are RP'er PK's who got so much love and respect from the community) They only killed random blues macroing, mining, randomly wandering in the map, or training skills... Killed pets when found time, dry looted and never gated someone... And yet never PvP'ed during those years with those characters... You don't really know what Anarchy is made off and what they can and can't do really. Some unlucky encounters you had with them perhaps doesn't mean they are jack shit... And the things you will hear from people will vary depending on the people you speak with... Welcome to the Forums and perhaps to the Server....
Victory without risk brings triumph without glory... What satisfaction would it give to gm taming at jhelom without being pked, parked, dragged lizzardmen upon etc?
I love the first part of that sentence, definitely worth a quote. Bbut the second bit.. I'd be satisfied to gm taming without having to res. Would i be satisfied hoarding 1m gold from blood eles without any encounter? well, that's a different question
Of course it is very frustrating while it is happening to us, but the "Jhelom Bulls experience" is something we all joke about after we reach GM taming. I've GM'd 4 tamers AFK and was killed countless times and I was annoyed when it happened. But knowing that there are players that wanted to stop me, but didn't achieve their goal, makes it a very satisfying achievement. I can now say the following (to be read with a "Borat" accent): I get the GM tamigz. I am very excite. It's a mine. It very nice, I like it. You can't have it back"
I've covered this topic across a few threads, but to reiterate I'm not asking for total safety. The danger is what makes the game so interesting. But, at the same time, I don't have to think highly of dishonorable PKs. Had they killed my tamer, got their chuckles, and left I wouldn't have thought twice. But revealing the block bot hiders I was borrowing from someone so that monsters can kill them (and they not have to take a murder count) was dirty. Which again, "diz iz felucca trammy nub" and all, but I don't think that means that I should just have a "hehehe them PKs do the darndest things" attitude about it. If you want to behave like a villain, expect to be thought of and treated like a villain I guess is my point. Also expect to be judged by the company you keep.
I totally agree. PKs were hated on OSI just as they should be here. Even the NPCs call them names if they wander into town, and on the bounty board. Public shaming of PKs and their activities is totally party of the UO experience and I think some PKs enjoy it in a RP-sort of way. I do think we have a select few players here who simply want to take out their RL anger, frustration or feelings of inferiority in-game by causing distress to random players, or some may be sadists that get pleasure knowing that the person behind the character is very upset over their actions, but I don't think this is the case for most PKs and I'm not saying it is the case with the ones you have encountered thus far. But you'll always have those 1 or 2 in every crowd in nearly every setting (games, work, Taco Bell) that cause problems for everyone.
