wow, great patch. Lots of content and looks like there was a lot of effort involved in it.

I couldn't agree more. I have only been back to UO for 3 weeks now and to see a nice content patch like this is very promising to me. Great job guys and thank you for making my return to the game a pleasurable one. Wish you could make a death ray I could use on some reds that are bottom feeding! haha j/k

As to Gargoyle Pickaxes, I'm fairly certain that Les and I pulled a troll up while stone mining yesterday. Unfortunately, my battle miner (melee warrior with mining) was hardly far along with training and we got deads.


Is it triggered on a combination of Magery and Mining skill of the character mining, or an actual USE of Magery in concert with Mining?

I am guessing it is just based off your character stats..I pulled 5 in one hour this evening. Still looking for that statue!

I am not familiar with RUNUO, so I am not sure what all is possible. Does these spawn randomly on each hit or are there random spawn tiles that one hits? - two of mine were the exact same spot.

How long will the leprechauns be spawning?

I am fine with all the changes and def like the reduced amount of items lost when crafting and failing. As for the statues I do not agree with. Sneaky farmed efreets for 8 hours a night for a little over a month and eventually obtained a statue. I would like to see all statues random drops of said monster or animal. I like the plat system and I know staying logged in promotes server growth but things like statues that can be obtained by farming said monster or animal should be rewarding to all UOR players. So if they need be on the plat system then they should be way more expensive and also be obtainable through kill monster/animal.

From what I've seen in IRC, they'll probably stop around Thursday/Friday.

This is an interesting topic for debate - just pointing out that the monster statues have been in the platinum store since nearly its inception. The only new ones available for purchase this patch are the ones in the 200 coin tier.
