Selling back to NPC didn't work very well for me with other stuff like Cloths. They were only buying 5pc. at a time and after 4-5 badges started to lower their buy price by 1gp each time. Took ages to reset that timer... Still, I don't consider the scrolls worthless. Sold some of the Gate scrolls and might use the ressurection scrolls to train magery on my mule (Fails are free ) The Gate scrolls I have left are converted into 250-450 gold a piece by doing escorts Initial investment is pretty tough though and scrolls don't sell at good as they did on OSI. I used to make a fortune back in the days on OSI selling bulk recall scrolls. Sold 1k Recall scrolls for 45k gp and they'd sell within minutes of advertising at WBB ... If I spend enough time selling those scrolls I will come out with a profit but it's difficult to put that into the calculation.
More like 50 crates but I strongly recommend using pouches or backpacks because they don't block movement. With gnarled staff you'll need at least 20 bags
I finished my Tinker recently and want to deliver the missing numbers for the guide : Final skill | Ingots used | Item crafted 33,2 | 160 TinkTools 42,7 | 500 Hammer 66,7 | 2000 Lockpicks 93,4 |5000 Lockpicks 94,3 |500 Lockpicks 97,1 |3000 HeatingStang, Spyglass, Scales 99,3 |3000 HeatingStang, Spyglass, Scales 100 |1500 HeatingStang, Spyglass, Scales 15660 Total Ingots used After lockpicks, I frequents switched between HeatingStang, Spyglass, Scales because they are identical in skill and ingot usage. I believe a little variation help gains.
Converted all guide links to their locations on the new forum. Added some new guides and removed some out of date ones, as well. Please let me know if you see any issues!
I followed this route, and just stuck with spyglasses at the end. My ingot usage was very close to Wodan's, somewhere in the 16k. I know I had 15k ingots, set aside 7500 for the spyglasses, and ended up tapping into my 1k dull copper and less than 500 bronze/copper ingots to finish. Many thanks Wodan!
Heresy! For aspiring tinkerers out there who don't wish to brutally murder colored ingots, I'd always trade iron for colored ingots, at some sort of beneficial rate for you the iron receivee.
Just GMed a couple of Smiths and thought I would post my results. Don't ask me how the ingot consumption for the last 10 skills points is so different. I double checked my ingots and it's correct. 1st Smith 50.0 - 68.3 (+18.3) = Kryss - 7,500 68.3 - 73.5 (+5.2) = Katana - 2,500 73.5 - 90.0 (+16.5) = Short Spear - 8,700 90.0 - 100 (+10) = Plate Gorget - 22,588 Total Ingots: 41,288 2nd Smith 50.0 - 63.7 (+13.7) = Kryss - 5,000 63.7 - 73.9 (+10.2) = Katana - 5,000 73.9 - 90.1 (+16.2) = Short Spear - 10,000 90.1 - 100 (+9.9) = Plate Gorget - 15,796 Total Ingots: 35,976
I DEMAND a guide to fishing nets. "special".... rare..... different hues.... anything to help a simpleton like me out! : )
Can confirm, copying books can take you to 50.0 adjusted skill, which is around 45.4 raw skill if you have 100 INT. As with most skills, the best way to train is to keep INT as low as possible for this stage, that way you could maybe get 47 or 48 raw skill out of your 50.0 displayed. Once you begin actually making spell scrolls though (50.0 to 100), you need max INT to regenerate your mana quickly.
If you have a guide that you think should be in here, let me know! It's 99.9% not because I don't like your guide, it's because I stink and missed it.
I have an update on iron ingots used to GM Blacksmith, I started at 50.0 real skill and used 38064 iron ingots using gideons method on the website
So if i'm reading this right I can do katanas from 50-80 then plate gorgets from 80-GM just to keep it easy? Is this accurate?
Raising carpentry on another char, just a note: ballot boxes seem to reach 100% success at 67.9 shown skill so you'll have to switch to something else to gain (and not just leave the macro going wondering why you're not gaining like I did =) )
