Great item, and amazing find! I absolutely agree you should keep it, historically in production UO shards if a GM left something unlocked like this and a player picked it up, they kept it. Even spawning rares/births were a mistake that turned into one of the most interesting mechanics in the game during OSI! I really hope this goes on sale, I just want to see how much people are willing to throw down for a bad boy like this.
I think this is the most valuable item on the shard... Because looks like a penis. That bloody waterfall doesn't have the same appeal. Like in the real life, the meaning of all those statues, shiny and hued super exclusive outfits and objects exposed are based in a freudian need. And yours is the literal translation of it. Ok, the bloody waterfall would looks even better locked going out from the top of this phallic symbol. Like a blood flood going out from a large pennis infected with a deadly STD. Definitely you have the most desired object(dick) of the shard.
If this theory is correct then Gideon has the most desired objects of the shard. And he has his hands on a couple bigger ones too.
I will buy it. I will trash barrel it on live stream, podcast style saying things like, "Whoa, you're blowing my mind right now!" and "Jaime... Jaimie... pull up that video." I am not kidding.
I'll look into the origin of the item as I am pretty sure I know where it came from. And while normally we let staff mistakes go (unlocked decor items getting snatched) these fall into the "only x will exist in active circulation" group and even by accident we cannot add more to the world. I will trace it and address it if that is the case. I don't mind rewarding players who find our mistakes, but you cannot pickup a 20 million gold check we forgot to lock down. The blood waterfalls were a rare spawn from the halloween event. They were on a very slow, random timer and could have been picked up by anyone. It seems as though only one player found the spawn (5 days after the event started). The water tub I believe might have come from the same thing as the statue, but it could have also been "unlocked" by someone filling it with water. A classic trick that still works here if we use the empty version in a decor situation.
Son of a! Well, it definitely was a ‘devs forgot to lock it down item’. I still think it should be kept on the server, because it would be an epic auction. And it’s just too damn awesome of a deco piece to remove! This is a completely unbiased opinion.
This seems a slightly odd stance. If I recall correctly, ShadowJack disarmed a recombent crossbow off a mob (that clearly should not have been possible), and he was allowed to keep that item. Is this that much different? @Talon Karde at least tell us where you got it! I love stories like that.
