Spawn is terrible this year

So I have killed 33 elfs 7 reindeer and 5-6 other and I have got maybe 5 holiday coins. This year is just not good for drops. Kind of a shame.

Also, the drop rate on scrolls is about where it should be, people are farming this event like mad. By the end of Xmas I am guessing over 1000 scroll will have been added to the game. If the drop rate was any higher I think scroll and Hcoin value would go down sharply.

I'm 43 elves deep, 2 were mounted rangers and 10 elves were in a dungeon and i've only gotten 3 HC.
Also 2 yeti, 5 ice golem and 3 of those snow vortexes I forget the name.

You want to talk about bad luck or what.

I could have just farmed gold in the time it took me to kill all this stuff. And that's my strat moving forward.
Let someone else enjoy getting nothing.

what are you possible expecting from killing so few low tier mobs in what I can only assume is overworld? you're doing it wrong. normal elves are 1/100 for scrolls in overworld. reindeer are only 1/50 in overworld. you're getting the drops you should for what you're doing.

2 mounted rangers!!! they're 1/50 in overworld just like reindeer. you're also not even close to having bad luck. you're just not playing the odds correctly.

the drop rate is identical to what it has been in the past. people complain every single year with such a tiny, insignificant sample size.

I got 5 scrolls over two days and then nothing at all on any future kill. Random is random I guess. And UO random always seems to run in spurts.

oh I forgot I killed 2 raindeer also Dancer & Prancer.

Maby my definition is different but so far for this winter event ive managed to get around 30 Hcoin, almost 20 Plat, and somehow was lucky enough to get a Snow Vortex and Ice Gollum Statuette. For me not having a tamer that’s pretty good, and Im happy with what I got.

Its RNG and a numbers game, they're dropping at the same rate they were last year.

All over land, All with EV's, just an hour or so a day since the spawn started.

I've netted 27 H Coin, 4 Plat 4 red scrolls 2 whites and my friend caught an Elvish Tome off a spawn I couldn't handle and called him in on.

RNG is your enemy, kill more elves and boost those numbers and you'll have more luck!
Last year I too got fucked by the RNG gods and only scored a single, lonely H Coin which I immediately lost after dying to a red.

The drop rate may be set at 1/100 for overworld scrolls, but that doesn't guarantee anything. You may kill 10 and get 10 scrolls or you may kill 1,000 and get none.

Don’t loose faith man I have been having bad luck also but just this morning I killed 10 Xmas spawn and got a scroll and a statue

Noob question: how do you all know how many monsters you've killed? You actually keep track? That's mad.

Me and four others hit the spawns all over today, in a few hours we got 4 or 5 scrolls and a couple decent slayers. HC was a bit low maybe but we each got a little and we got like 70k gold along the way.
Feels like spawn is ok. Was a lot of fun mowing shit down regardless.

Rng may hate ya sometimes though! Last year I didn't get poo while others got tons.

Think of the most high profile, risky, dangerous place to be in all of uo and go there.

I got my 15 scrolls before hitting vacation and I am out rest of event.

It's not just general rng. It depends on where you are.

I use this. I try to make sure nobody sees me printing them out at work
