House Decay The time period in which houses decay has been increase slightly to more accurately match what was seen on OSI in 1999. Daily server restarts and saves added roughly 18-24 hours to the house decay process. This will only affect the time from like new to in danger. The in danger phase should remain unchanged. Instruments Developed a new system of handling the single click descriptions of instruments to be more true to the T2A/early UOR era. The uses remaining on each instrument will be represented in the following manner. a new instrument will have between 350-450 uses remaining a slightly worn instrument will have between 271-349 uses remaining a somewhat worn instrument will have between 191-270 uses remaining a fairly worn instrument will have between 111-190 uses remaining a greatly worn instrument will have between 31-110 uses remaining a nearly broken instrument will have between 1-30 uses remaining Should the instrument be exceptional it will have twice as many uses. Ergo a nearly broken exceptional instrument could have 1-60 uses remaining. Should the item be exceptional and be missing a maker's mark, the exceptional tag will be shown after the items condition. Should the item be exceptional and a maker's mark has been applied. A "crafted by" marker will be placed at the end of the description. Should the item be a slayer, it will be shown after the instruments name. Examples "a new drum of air elemental slayer" "a fairly worn silver tambourine" "a somewhat worn exceptional lute" "a greatly worn lute crafted by Player Name" "a nearly broken lap harp of dragon slaying" Monster AI / Misc Disallowed monsters from dropping their backpacks when commanded to drop their items Orc scouts and shipwreck krakens now have the correct backpacks. Monster - Firebreath Applied a soft cap to the damage monsters can do vs other monsters when using a breath attack Implemented a secondary range check when a firebreathing creature uses a breath attack. Breath attacks were initiated once a player came in range of a target and their attack was charged. However players were still targeted with an attack after the audio roar completes but before the breath attack starts. Breath attacks will now be ranged checked as the creature starts the attack, as well as the roar. Note: This matches behaviour seen in the UO Demo and understood logic that attacks have a 10 tile range. MyRunUO Web Interface Added a new system of exporting tamed pets to the website This will aid in staff research into server performance (stables, tamed pets) And allow us to implement the followers section of the player profiles. Also exported any skills related to tamed followers so they can be viewed as well Regen Rates Properly adjusted the rate of stamina regeneration for the Renaissance era and removed ancillary code that does not apply to UOR. Properly adjusted the rate of HP regeneration based on player satiety. This will resolve the problems with monsters regenerating hit points to fast, in the case of monster fights. Stables Each bonded pet slot will not result in one additional stable slot for the player. Zookeeper Quest / Wild Tamers Event Zookeeper Adjusted the locations in which animals are placed in the zoo The zookeeper will no longer accept summoned creatures that in extraordinarily rare instances can spawn as the rare variety. Quest Elder Resolved a minor problem with the end of the taming quest. Reptile Tamer Slight adjustment to the hit points of the tamers defenders. Adjusted some speech markers for his various actions. Beast Tamer Slight adjustment to the hit points of the tamers defenders.
What exactly are the 2014 Player vs Monster Awards Lifetime Player vs Monster Awards Are they actual IN GAME Awards or Star type Banner things as shown to show in the PvM Player Profile?
Just something that shows on the players profile. We just broke it into 2 categories now showing lifetime and 2014 rankings. One day we will have a sort of ingame recognition of it, but for the moment it is just a website perk. (over 8 million monsters have been killed since the addition of this system)
Not sure if it's a browser issue or not, but in both Chrome & IE, the images for large monsters like sea serpents or giant serpents are 'overflowing' their spots on the player leaderboards. Example: http://www.uorenaissance.com/?page=m_player_pvm&id=15418
Yea, with the new design I had to apply a width max on the icons. There are a few I still need to fix.
So.... now food is going to give HP and stamina regen? I just want to say that how hungry your character was never affected hp/stam/mana regen or skill gains or anything like that (in my opinion). I think it always just gave 5 stamina. I believe at times stratics and uo.com admins/UO staff would confirm possible benefits because they either did not know or wanted to let people believe they did something. But this was thoroughly tested by folks like uopowergamers.com and never proven to have any benefit. Again - just my opinion. I'd rather it stay this way personally...I know we aren't going for era accuracy exactly- but this is one of those times that I don't think we're making the game better.
These changes were made after some extensive research into what is seen in the UODemo. Based on research into the UODemo code the following results were seen. Being starved you regenerate 1 hit point every 18-19 seconds (0 hunger). Half full you regenerate 1 hit point every 12-13 seconds (11-12 Hunger). Completely stuffed you can regenerate 1 hit point every 8-9 seconds (20 hunger). RunUO comes with a default system of 11 seconds per 1 point of HP regeneration. While this is fine for players (most people rarely notice) for monsters this results in quicker than average regeneration. Global hit point regeneration will now provide similar results as seen in the UO Demo. Stamina regen is still a static number.
The summarized information is updated nightly, however the time varies depending on my free time. I am almost finished with the updates to the daily data analysis process and will attempt to get it scheduled at midnight server time on a more consistent manner. So short answer once a day.
Previously before patch 52 monsters and players had the same cap for breath attack damage (receiving). The limits were adjusted to account for boss monsters, large hp creatures using a breath attack vs players. However when provo'ing a boss monster vs other creatures its damage was limited by the same factors. Monsters can now do roughly twice the damage to another monster using a breath attack. This will affect situations such as provo'ing two shadow wyrms on each other or a boss monster with a breath attack vs other monsters.
Yes, naming for odd items like that can be confusing. Its the direction that is built out when the item is placed, vs the direction the item faces. So the pew faces south, but is built east from the place you target. (Confusing yes, but ill work on a guide update for those)
