_Event Update_ ​

It has been almost three weeks since fishermen started telling tails of pirates with dragons at sea! In that time, many players have found vast riches and unique rewards!

My goal with this event was always to give players a new experience of ship combat in the open oceans. With Telamons help it has been a great success thus far, and will continue to be so. However, now that I have some data on how quickly player are able to find these pirate ships. I will be reducing the number of active pirate ships from 1-5 down to 0-2. Two reasons for this update: One, summer is just starting and I want this event to overlap with multiple fishing tournaments. Two, my times limited and keeping 1-5 ships active is taxing. A few bonus ships can be expected during fishing events.

Fear not, Pirate tamer ships will be around all summer long!​

I would agree that 5 is too many (though I enjoyed finding them).

Tobias hasnt got me yet, though we have had two encounters.

Found me a boat full of bad people and had to send it's crew to Davy Jones' Locker.

Rumor had spread that Tobias was on the high seas. I set out to find him while collecting the MIB chests I collected last fishing tourney. My efforts were in vein as I heard his alter ego was in Destard recouping his dragon stock that had been massacred by the UOR Navy. I did however, find a few of his men looking to prey on the weak and sent them to meet their compatriots in Davy Jones' Locker. The reward for ensuring the safety of the UOR community, three treasure maps tucked away in its hull.

I bumped into 4 in my first hour ... now I haven't seen one in days!

This filthy scallywag be attemptin' to ambush us while we be enjoyin' drinks below-decks with the pirate tamer crew. I barely managed to salvage my ship and maneuver to safety when we could hear the crys of our fellow sailors. This wench be turnin' her dragons on them without mercy! I be orderin' the ship to come about, as we be full speed ahead back into the fight! Arrr, the crew of Revenge be upholdin our name. To Davey Jones' you be goin' Jem!

If the Pirates insist on using dragons to fight their battles, I as a poor fisherman must respond in kind. I recruited Monteith and his delightful pets Sham and Rock as protection. True it made the decks crowded but it was worth it. Returning to my home port of Scara, I had just sailed past Jhelom when I heard a mighty Roar. I hove to and proceeded to track this scourge of the seas down.
This crew didn't like my music and started fighting amongst themselves and soon they were all sleeping with the fishes. I couldn't wait to see what booty they had in store for me, I looted their corpses, harvested the leather and snuck a look in their hold.

While launching pirate ship #100, the player pirate Crimson Jack assaulted a player going by. The following sea battle lasted for about 20 minutes

Arr! My crew received word that our brother Crimson Jack be in need of aid! I be givin' the order to let out reefs and set a course for Jack's last known location. Alas, we be arriving too late. Jack had been slain and sent into the depths! Me crew be quickly dispatchin' a volley of arrows at the scallywag who slain our brother.

As it be known, Tobias be leavin' his ship unlocked for he who may be mighty enough to defeat me crew. This scallywag ghost Audibly boarded me ship and began haunting me ship! Suddenly I be losing control of my ship! ARR I said and gave the order to drop the anchor. Quickly, I be sendin a bird to me stronghold requesting aid from me brothers. We be left no choice but to abandon ship! ARR! But wait...

I be a pirate, and be expectin' no special treatment or favors from landlubbers. Nor a "Fair" fight.
You see, ghost.... Tobias be a pirate, and pirates never be sleepin. So while this ghost be "away" in whatever ghost la la land he be. Me and me crew pulled a fast one.
