This is fixable and is caused by browser cache being a jackass. But with the Discord server available now you might find that less technically challenging. Welcome aboard!
Thank you, I'm having a great time so far, but am still on training wheels (which I've dropped and reattached 3 times - [young] status - once to grab a boat I parked wrong, once to regain my boat I forgot to lock, and the last time to try and figure out the music loop and why it isn't contained to the regions it should be. That last one took hours of porting to no avail).
The ingame music? Did you try the link in @Steady Mobbin 's signature?: http://uorforum.com/threads/definitive-guide-to-the-original-uo-music.23086
Yes I am using those files, as they are the closest recreation of the music I remembered, but my issue is that the game loops other tracks afterwards, that are not appropriate to the zone. I tried using a config.txt from another shard, and configuring tracks in the Digital folder, but could still not get them to loop to tracks that did not belong. I spent hours messing around with this and could not find a solution to make it the old UO I remember.
Tried clearing cache and using different browsers to no avail. Thanks for the advice, looks like I will use a proper IRC client when I get back from my holiday And yeah, I'll probably jump on Discord too.
I've essentially deleted my old Discord profile - linked me to Elder Scrolls Online(various guilds - haven't played since last year), Legacy UO(Angel Island 2.0) - never posted, and Atlantica Online, the MMO I was playing most recently. I did so to have a fresh start with a new name witht the most common email address I use. Means I have a 14 day wait for deletion. I'm heading off to visit a friend's farm for 9 days next week, so will join Discord when I return (and should have a decent amount of characters trained and not [young] too!)
If you want to take a look: http://uorforum.com/threads/ultima-online-ambient-sounds.36785/ We discussed about some missing background music and nonsense looping in that thread.
