Currently running Anatomy Fencing Macing Healing Magery Resist Tactics All GM 95/100/29 Not sure why I even have 100 Magery. UOR has enough peace/dexxers. Thoughts? Not even sure how I got here with this template. lol Edit: Just remembered Fencing used to Parrying.
I like Archery as a backup dexxer skill, if you time it rightyou can drop people you are running down at low health
I have a scribe/archer and a provo/archer. The scribe archer can be a real bitch to deal with in pvp. Just hard to land that final shot. I like the idea of having Archery to pop them as they run. Macing or Fencing with archery? resist even worth having? Macing robs stamina and stamina is used to for the chance to hit. Fencing has paralyze though.
Why swords over fencing? I know for macing you can't use the poisoning. Maybe a katana is better than a Kryss or war fork. I like fencing because of the spear and paralyze. 40 poisoning? You can only do regular poison. I guess thats to block the healing?
http://www.uorenaissance.com/player/560607 Lemac is my history perfected version of my first ever character from when UO came out. Mostly for role playing but he does great at NOH events.
ive had dual wielders in the past, but i found that med or eval would be more useful in that template you show there. It's preference i guess when it comes down to it.. Cheers,,,
I thought about meditation. With 45 int Im going to be using it may be worth it. It'll only take a few hours to macro swords. Try it out in some capture the flag and pvm. If I dont like it I can drop it and use med or Eval.
Certain spells such as mind blast harm heal G Heal dont use eval, blade spirits etc for their power so its nice to have med at least
Wel... You have the halberd for heavy armored oponents. you can poison lots of kind of blades... and is very easily to find slayers...
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...11tYYoKrhmJLzfE7dNbuuR0PA/edit#gid=1750798924 According to that it is the highest DPS. Second is kryss and axes.
I knew a guy back in the day on chessy who ran a swords+fencer with that exact same template. His reasoning was he just liked playing dexers in both pvp and pvm. He ran swords because slayers were cheaper, and fencing because it was the best for pvp. He liked it a lot.
I'll be honest. I dropped inscription on my scribe/archer and now have a swords/archer because this character is just so good with maces and fencing. I can rob stamina and paralyze with a weapon change macro.
I hear ya man. I dont like to burden myself with min/maxing every toon. I have an archer/fencer just for funsies. Uo has evolved and on this server particularly, there are clear winners for both PvM(Tamers) and PvP(Tamers) but if i enjoy playing something i will damnit. lol Gm crafted gear and regs are cheap enough.
I hear on the tamer thing. I love UOR but it is setup to favor tamers. Its not like its hard to build a tamer. Its the same as any template. macro macro macro lol Tamer buys 500k near perfect stats dragon and bonds it. Spends some time training it etc. Its not really that hard. I have one. Anyway you screw up and said dragons dies. Big deal. You're out 30 minutes. You buy a uber dexxer slayer weapon for 1 mil plus. Can't even use it unless its in a period correct trammel environment. Hell a guy looted a 30k weapon off my dexxer yesterday. lol The point is tamers are all nearly profit and zero risk. Anyway I like playing archers but I like the idea of spearing them until they run then switch weapons and bam. Im going to try it in pvp. Never know.
I did LJ with Archery without magery. It was fun with 100 / 100 / 25. Archery was awesome with poisonous melee monsters (Silvers, Dreads) I made him a battle miner later though. You can also do Wrestling & Fencing to increase odds for paralyzing blow which will also keep you defenses up when you drink a pot with two handed weapon. Another oddball route might be poisoning to add instead of 2 weapon skills, you can do 3 poison spell attempts without meditation since you have 30 intelligence. When GM'd nox you can deal greater poison with spell, with possible deadly boost at 2 tiles away, not to mention to poison your own blade.
I actually have that template I have been working on. I was at 91 poisoning and did something stupid. Stopped dropping it at 70. Back up to 75. Im about to let it macro now.
