Tamer Dexxer Template

Just GM'd tamer # 2 and everyone says this is so much fun to play figured id give it a go. Whats a basic template? Did some searching on the forums but couldnt find anything definitive.

Tame 100
Lore 100
Vet 100

Tactics ....100?
Melee Skill....100? Any suggestions on which melee skill or doesnt really matter?
Anat......100?

Mage/Med? How much for these? I assume you need the min to have a decent change of using a gate scroll....

Unless there is no other way Id prefer not to have a 2nd account gate this character and his pets around. I have a large pile of gate scrolls and a GM scribe so id rather use them for travel.

You probably can but I haven't tested it. I don't have to heal much but when I do it works well enough.

It's a really fun template. I use him mainly for Amibs but I enjoying using him on ancient liches with a silver/vanq. I soloed an ancient wyrm with him once and that was pretty tough. fluffy isn't too bad.

Haven't tested it myself. You shouldn't really have to heal though, ideally you send the mare in, have mobs aggro on it and then pull it back with all guard/all follow. As long as you always make sure to position the mare correctly to stand on the tile directly N, E, S or W of your target while your char is on the NE, SE, SW or NW tile you shouldn't get hit at all. You'll have to reposition your mare a bit if you're facing multiples or have to deal with spawning adds but that's in essence how I do it and I don't think it won't be much different for @Ahirman.

There's a couple different templates for this. It depends if you want to do pvm or pvp

People always ask about skills for dexxer/tamers but thats not the hard part. Stats on a dexxer tamer are were you get caught up. As a dexxer your going to want 100/100/25 for MAX damage. However, this doesn't allowing for gating your pets around regardless of your magery skill. I suggest you use a second character on another account to gate your pets around.

I think Im going to drop all the bard skills on my tamers and convert to dexxer tamer and use my mare to tank. Thanks for idea ahirman, eugen, keza

GM taming lore vet macing (qstaff) for DPS, 90 tact 90 anat 70 magery 50 med 85 str 85 dex 55 int or switch 5 out of str or dex and 50 int, 50 med dont sound like a lot but if ya need to sync heal and cure for some reason u have some mana regen, and with 8 slots i am sure these can be altered a bit. does great damage and super fast kills on big game no slayers needed

What do you consider big game? Are you using a mare to tank?

with 5 slots which is Normal? i can use just a mare and eat a balron up Dave.. I can only IMAGINE what you can do with the 8 slots allotted here.. Try it you might like it... Also there is that small chance the mob can turn on you as well. so you need to be pretty quick sometimes.. I forgot to mention, If you don't know how to *Sync* heal and cure it is a good practice to get used to before you just jump into anything big with just "quote" "A mare"..

I use the standard mini heal thing in razor. If poisoned it'll cast cure then heal and auto target you.

Im going to try it. Instead of macroing though I have been fighting low mobs and hitting them with mace weapons. I'm sticking with 50 int so I can res if I need to. Ill carry some scrolls.

do u mean using just one mare and ur character to kill a Balron?
i tried it myself but the mare died pretty quickly
i only have 85 vet and 97 lore
is that the reason?
i used mace so should have helped by slowing the Balron's physical attacks

thats where Sync Healing and curing comes in, when you are vetting time magic heals and cures in between, a pure dexxer wouldn't be able to no, need some magery and preferably some med as well, GM vet or close would be a noticeable difference too..

My mare died pretty fast too when I tried a balron. I have 100 magery and 0 med. Im going to make some changes. This template is unreal. Ancient liches, blood elementals, etc is no problem and I dont have to lug around two dragons

I can actually solo a Balron with my dex tamer as long as I’m using a slayer weapon and a well trained mare (5x GM basically). I also have 100 dex which I think is paramount to this build.

My mare isnt 5x gm and I was using a war hammer of exorcism. Its almost to risky honestly. Anyone tried a shadow wyrm?

Try a Qstaff if macing? I found it personally to be the best PvM weapon especially for a tamers build that likes the same.
Also, learn to sync your heals and cures in between the vetting process, one good mishap can change it drastically for the worse if not all but perfected
