Hi! Someone mentioned in the IRC chat that there are a ton of people with multiple houses, and some are so kind as to lend them to newbies. I'll be up front. I'm training to be a thief. I won't steal your stuff, or give your key to others (assuming it doesn't get stolen from me!) Right now I need a safe place to train skills, and if I end up super grey for awhile, store things. The stuff probably wouldn't be worth taking from me, so it is my guess it would be safe in one of these vet houses. I hope I posted this in the right place. Looked around but I'm not particularly observant. Name in game is Ulrike. People have been super helpful, including on giving me advice with regards to theft, which is surprising. Really enjoying my time so far.

it sounds like wise is the best way to go since he doesn't intend to sell, (I think) and OMG you guys responded quickly. I am in ocello or wherever right now macroing stealth. Is the cove just outside of britain? How could I quickly get to britain. Is there a way to send tells in the game (been a long time since I played.) I could start practicing theft right away. That would be great. Just steal my own stuff for a few days and I'll be gtg.
If you want a place outside east brit I can do that too would be much closer than cove lol. I didnt offer earlier since Weigraf did. I don't plan to sell for a while so take your time with it. Nothing wrong with wanting to play a thief but there are good and bad ways of doing it. Hoping your the 'good' kind of thief
I hope to be the good kind of thief but etiquette varies from game to game. What would you consider the traits of bad thieves? I don't want to be a griefer, but I do intend to take advantage of things like people being afk. I'm not particularly patient so stealing keys and following people to their home seems unlikely. Ransoming valuable items for a sum of gold is something I've been considering, or I could set up a vendor to sell stolen stuff. Not sure. Gonna head to bed now, will hopefully catch you at a time we are both in game soon.
Yeah, I've got a large brick above Minoc that I have no use for presently. I'd be happy to co-own you or any other new players there for the time being.
AFK stealing is fine in fact i support it to keep people from being AFK! Just not being a douche, ransoming is cool people should carry valuables that they dont want to lose.
Don't let this fiend anywhere near East Brit or Minoc! A city like Cove is a good place for filth! Welcome aboard!!
I too run a new player farm! ;D My main home (L-Shape) is surrounded by 5 small houses I co-own new players to for as long as they need. The coolest part is a few of them have since grown up and moved into the Stormhold peninsula. Let me know if anyone is homeless!
hmm having a problem getting a hold of wise. There is no tell system so communication is hard. I am in ocello macroing hide to GM atm. If anyone has a free house near britain and sees me in IRC, shoot me a tell and maybe we can work something out. I'm probably being impatient, but I want to get a nice safe place to start practicing since is the skill I need the most. Also, good way to get up snooping? And will getting caught get you greyed? Can it be done on NPCs? Or should I just set up a second character to chain snoop on.
Snoop a pack horse, snooping is not a criminal action so you can snoop any character without going grey.
Even better, I WILL TAKE THEE to an escort, and just snoop him away staying blue. Sure, you get a karma lock - but whoopie. Then work on your stealing by taking him outside town and relieving him of his gold. THEN escort him and get paid. boomya!
