Recently tried a melee tamer, super fun especially for the events every year. **meant for running events, not farming solo to make money. 100str 100dex 25int Macing Tactics Anat Heal Taming Lore Vet burns through bandages but they're cheap and regs can be a pain to buy in bulk sometimes. Of course you can't gate yourself and whatnot, but wow what a fun char! Next one i'm making is similar, but meant for a lucky charms / warhorse 100/100/25 or 90/100/35 pending on if i'm shaving a few skills down to put in some magery. Weapon Tact Anatomy Music provo vet lore Little bit more versatile, but lacking as much firepower. What are some of your favorite uncommon build to use?! Might help some newer players find new builds to make!
I’ve been playing around with Lucky Charms type builds too. You have no way of healing yourself and getting hit happens. I’ve considered no Lore which basically means just no cure/Rez.
Yeah I got whacked by mobs quite often with my recent character. Might have to suck it up and make a Ugh..... Faction warhorse PvM build to try a charms build. Yep just typed that. No turning back now!
@Keza you brought this build to my attention a while back. I never used a pack of them but my naturalist fencer tamer used one! We all had a blast letting a frenzied tank big stuff while we ran around fighting. That build is responsible for many tamer dexxer builds. So for what you did to rep it.... THANK YOU!!!! I even tried macing this time around, and for pvm, it’s awesome! Those crushing blows lay down the damage and tired enemies are way easier to handle!
Funny you mention this, I literally just bought a charms solely for this purpose, and am training as we speak. It is an adjustment char, so I will likely be done in a day or two. Mine drops Anatomy for Discordance and goes 80 lore / 20 Magery for some cure and heal spells as well as better rates on telekinesis scrolls. Keep in mind you can't cure pet poison without 60 Lore and can't Res pets without 80. This will be an AMIB char. I plan to see how it works and adjust if needed. Charms will be taking the hits of I can play it right.
It's reeeeeeeeeally interesting getting used to it. I had to re-do my thoughts on when to do stuff and in what order. But that's the beauty of things!!!! Putting youself in some weird situations and not knowing the best route at first. That's part of the fun! GL on that lucky charms man, i'll probably have to hobo it on a faction horse
Excuse my ignorance - lucky charms build? I gather that's some sort of pet (a type of horse?), but I'm not sure what lol.
It was a horse you can tame in the St Patty's day event. It has war horse type stats, so it makes a decent tank in a pinch.
They don’t do any more damage, if so not substantial, but they DO have 500or so hit points, making them an amazing tank!
If you think about it, we play with hybrids most of the time... All types of dexxer bards, bard mages and mage tamers. There is at least one hybrid that I want to “invent“ soon. I believe it's super hardcore but has to stay secret yet (what a tease)... Another rare hybrid I liked playing was the following one: a recall battleminer. He was like 100 mining 100 macing 100 tactics 100 parry 100 healing 100 anatomy 50.1 magery 49.9 med The idea is to cycle through all natural golem spawns and smelt the dropping ore. The income was mediocre (~30-40k per hour), but it was fun. Plus you meet alot other miners in caves for chatting (or PKing) purposes.
This is my latest thought on the subject: 100 Weapon 50 Tactics 90 Healing 100 Anat 100 Music 100 Provo 80 Vet 80 Lore
My favorite hybrid build is the vet/bard. Anything can become my pet, suck it tamers!! Me and my trained Knights overthrowing the Queen!
Interested in these builds. Are there any updates on people's builds? Looking for the max melee weapon damage while having vet and healing.. thinking of using 100 weapon 80 tactics 80 Anatomy 100 healing 100 veterinary Music Provo 40 Magery Using a lucky charms and scrolls to travel
Here is what I run: http://www.uorenaissance.com/player/2484490 Damage output is nice! A few trouble spots: with no resist, I get pwn’ed by casters. I’m not supposed to get hit, but oftentimes, the mobs don’t want to do what I want them to! Also, there are times my bandaids can’t keep up with the damage mid-level mobs put out, especially when there are multiple mobs! That said, I still die more often than my Lucky! I have wondered what the build would look like if I used maces instead (for stamina drain) and picked up resist. But after All the time I spent GM’ing LJ... do I really want to do that?!?!
I tried a lucky charm build with provo, didint worked.. so i am now running with: 100 swords 100 anatomy 100 tactics 100 healing 100 veterinary Now my doubt Animal lore, 80 or 100?(i want a vet machine, i puted 100dex to make vet as faster as possible, so i will probably gm lore too) The others 100 points? i have now 50 of magery(i will maybe put it to 60) then 40 of something?(hiding? resist? gm magery? 80 of poisoning?)
