Want to make a craft character but on this server I learned that some craft skills require other craft skills. I am also completely oblivious to the BOD system. Therefore what's the best craft only build? GM Smith GM Carpentry GM Tailor GM Tinker ?? ?? I already have GM Mining and 90s LJ on Battle Miner.
100 blacksmith 100 tailor 100 carpentry 100 tinker 100 mining 45 music 75 magery 80? This is the template needed to craft everything ( not included is alchemy, poisoning or fletching) With the extra 80 points you can do anything with such as take magery to GM and add 55 med? 55 lumberjack? I know you have stated that you have a miner and a LJ, however you won't be able to smelt items you craft or simply mine with your crafter toon and will need to change over for this and sometimes you just need to chop a tree. Arms lore is sometimes suggested, however you can use the UOR website and see the durability of items much easier (when worn by a toon) BODs only require tailoring and blacksmith currently with plans to also have a carpentry Style added (carpentry / fletching)

Inscription and poison still add bonus to mage still? (Meaning on this server) If so could for craft only charactet GM Smith GM Tailor GM Tink GM Carp GM Magery GM Alchemy (Needs GM Magery right?) 45 Music/55 Med?
That's correct, it's recommended that you have inscription on a pure mage for the added bonus and alchemy can be on anything

Personally I would go with blacksmithy because it's expensive and magery, because with 50 you will be able to get about
Exactly that @Garavar . They have more durability than the store bought ones, and you could prob make a stack of gains at some point (I can't remember, its been a long time). Also means you don't have to nip to the shops regularly to stock back up. Also, organisor agents are your friend. I gm'ed my crafter without using them, I still have flashbacks to moving gnarled staffs into backpacks littered around my house.
Them bloody staffs. Definitely try to make your own tools as you go, there should be something you can make and use at most levels to gain with.
This character is almost done, however I just realized with no mining won't smelting the armor/weapons yield less ingots?
This is how I created my crafter. It will take a little longer but will be mostly almost free to create. Since I didnt start with magery it will be much running on foot to start with. Started with 50 Smith and tinker, then bought up mining, If remember correct you get some ingots to start with, create shovels with them or buy shovels in tinkshop I think, get a packhorse and start mine west of Britain, lots of mountains in guardzone. Also there is Delucia in lost lands with lots of mountains as well in safezone. Now you have a week or two depending on how much time you can spend mining. There are forges all around to melt your ingots. Melt them in small stacks to improve you mining skill. Make some more shovels with the New melted ingots so you always have 4-6 in you pack. Just stash the rest of the ingots in bank for now. Tinkering will raise during mining while making shovels. Get to gm mining and continue mining till you get around 30-40k ingots. Now you can start smithing to get to gm. Lots of guides in this forum for that. While getting bored of mining, there are some side things you can do, when you take a break from mining. If you dont have lots of gold already then eskort some NPC:s to get some gold, buy up magery and buy some regs to start train. You want to be able to recall and mark a few runes with scrolls at least. Mark up some runes to a few flax fields and sheep pens. Recall around and collect flax and wool. This is for later on tailoring training. So days will look like this, mine some, Gather flax and wool to creat bolts of clothes. All skills will go up by just playing the game and you will have plenty of resources to gm Smith and tailoring in just a few weeks. Now when this is getting done. Start of a New char, this will be your lumberjack axer. Start lumberjacking with a packy as well. Yew is a safe place to be with lots of trees in guardzone. Soon you will have lots of wood to train carpentry with your crafter. While getting bored of lumberjacking, train swords,tac anatomy and healing with you lj axer. Dont forget that you can now create your own armor and weapons with your crafter. Make a few good sets for your fighter. Always take a visit to the pens and flaxfields for more resources while out hunting, you now need clothes for bandage as well. Now you have a fighter and crafter almost done. Start battle mining with your lj axer for more ingots to finish up tinkering (add music and peace on him so you can peace the golems). No need to mine anymore, keep miningskill for smelting. You should now also be able to buy a small house since you have trained your lj axer melee skills on Mobs. Rats, orcs, ettins and other stuff. Put it near a montain, plenty of spots for that. You can also smelt all metal armor and weapons you find on Mobs for more ingots. This is a fun way to play, you actually dont have to Macro so much, just play the game and getting gold and skills while playing. Lots of running because lack of magery but that didnt bother me A simple macro for smith/smelt, tailor carpenter. All I did. My chars look like this. Crafter Gm Smith,tinker,carp, tailor,mining,magery,45 music,55 med. LJ axer. Gm Word,tac,ana,heal,lumberjacking,music,peace. Can switch music and peace to some else later on. But it is free to train since you crafter makes you instruments. And can be macroed over a night or so. Check guides for the most effective ways to raise your crafting skills.
