@Gideon Jura dude... we were going to snipe my blaze sandals back and have an epic full circle turnaround on them... and then you logged on and equipped them before it drops?!

Didn't know ya but good show. Takes balls to let it drop and not just miss it by mistake. Best of luck to you in your future ventures.

Was there anything inside? I'm expecting just "HYPE TRAIN CHOO CHOO" repeated over and over for 20 pages.

Slowly working on a video to post of the event. I didn't really get that much loot but it was fun just to take part.

Since I'm getting a look at "server birth" rares that, to be honest, I didn't even know existed, I figured this might be a good time to ask some questions... Are server birth rares things that only exist after a server is created for the first time? Are they artifacts that suddenly and randomly generate after the server is taken down for maintenance and brought back up?

Other than the benevolence of the strange and wonderful gods of UO, where do these things come from?

Also, when a house collapses, do the items just fall to the ground? Or are the pouches and what not that I saw at this IDOC generated in the collapse to contain things?

Fascinated by that whole process now that I've seen it go down. The only other IDOC I've ever seen was back in my OSI days, at my own house when I logged on about 20 minutes after the timer had run out and it had fallen.

WOW. Pop in for a few and see this...

@Gideon Jura you were definitely one of my favorite people here. A friend that i never had the chance to meet in person. Ill always look back on our groups with fond memories and think it kind of ruined gaming for me! It would truly be hard to find that level of fun again! Teamwork and persistence. That's what its all about. I think back on the story you once told of walking down the hallway in school *high fouring* your students. Shoutout @amfeKk ! You are a motivator by nature, in game and real life. I wish you the very best in life my man!

Thanks for the many laughs and great times!

Never played with you, before my time here but the legend was always there and will now live on. Thanks to @Gideon Jura for turning what could have been another relic home into a server wide event that had many of us captivated for hours. Ended up with a few fun things I was excited to have snagged and glad so many people got to partake and shake up the shard for a while!

Doubt something like this will ever be replicated but what a way to go out with a bang. Enjoy whatever you are doing next.

Yes, I also wanted to say thank you Gideon. Must have been a little surreal, and probably a bit of a pucker to log in the way you did and watch it all crash down around you. I admire your desire to get all of this back out into the hands of the players. It's true that we likely wont see an event the likes of this ever again. You left your mark both during the time that you played, and in the form of lasting memories for many others in the time after. Best of wishes to you and yours in your endeavors going forward. One chapter closes, but another begins.

Imagine quitting a video game by uninstalling it or turning it off.

It's just pixels. The loot that so many people spent days drooling over while buzzing around like vultures is as real as the tooth fairy and santa claus.

Some are so trapped in the imaginary world that their visualization of quitting it results in some new journey, some new life, as if they're sailing off to the great beyond at the end of Return of the King.

The guy was once a very active player, wrote some amazing guides, and collected a lot of stuff. And he quit. The end.
