All I do is purchase vendor training skills to cap at 700 and start gathering kindling and use the camping skill. Make sure it is pointed up and you will gain in all 3 stats. Lock them when you reach each one, really doesn't take that long. Gather kindling by using your dagger on a tree. Double click the kindling to use the camping skill. I suggest gathering all you can hold and running a macro for using the kindling.
Thx I started doing it. I didn't cap my skill though. And now I'm assuming you do this becasue you stop gaining stats if your camping gets to high? What a weird way of gaining stats from the traditional ways.. But I'll try again when I get home
Correct, you were supposed to cap your skills so you wouldn't gain in camping. Point camping downwards (make sure its the only one
Camping is the most efficient, however if you are a poor new player other options are available that are not as efficient but cost next to nothing. If you are making a Str + Dex char, you can just as easily macro herding for an hourish and then snooping for a few hours and usually cap them both out. If you are still low on int, just camp a few times and usually you will hit 25. This way is a good way if (example) you need to go to bed/ go to work / can't play anyways, you can just set up a herding macro and pass out. In the morning, wa la, 100 str. Ultimately though, the most efficient is buyout your skills until cap (real skills), then macro camping at 0 until you are maxed.
Hmm unfortunetly you can not snoop as a young player status. So hopefully herding will get me decent. I'm almost at 30 so I should be able to kill ok. Not great but ok
Type "[young" it will give you an option to transport to the moongate in occlo Click that, then step into moongate, click Brit. Strip yourself (at the bank) down to absolutely nothing. Then head to the healer. Corner him between 2 beds (he cannot move) then set a macro to click last object (his bag) and a 1 second pause. After about an hour or so, maybe longer, GM snoop lots of dex. (With this new player program here once you step outside of occlo you lose your "young status", the good news is, once your done with snooping, type "[young", select "enter young player program", wala back to occlo as a young player with some more dex) Again to reiterate, these options are less optimal than camping. Anyways, hope this helps.
Well this information certainly helps. And if I don't earn enough money tonight to buy up my skills tonight to do camping I'll look into that. Thx.
The way I have been doing it is free as well. I just lock all skills except camping and spirit speak. I use camping to 10.0, then turn down, use SP to the same 10.0 and repeat. I've also found walking around while camping, seems to increase the gains.
Typing [young with one square or round bracket in front of the word before stepping into the moongate does not work for me. I've tried it every which way, I have a young character in Occlo, while doing this. What am I doing wrong?
