    UOR,

I have been holding out, thinking the spark might return, but I'm starting to accept it is likely gone. I have not yet answered the question of if I am really done, but I want to start seriously thinking about it. So, vote if you want to. Also, I haven't been tracking the politics and cliques over the years, so I would welcome any additional information.

e.g. " I vote for 'give to player' because they have done this and that and so on."

For those who don't know me, I have lots of stuff. Nothing crazy, but a good amount. Haven't really played for a long time.

    Hope yawl are doing well!

Hello. I never visit idoc’s but I know for sure that this is a great show. If you go blow things up in a couple of idoc houses. People love it, there will be pvp and fun.

    Regards,

My advice is not to quit. Don't give away your stuff, don't delete your characters. One thing I've learned over the past 23 years of playing this game off and on and quitting "for good" several times, is that the spark always does come back. There is no way to predict when or exactly why, but it will happen. And it might not even last long, you might get the urge to play for one day and then the next day be completely out of your mind bored again. Just take a break. Set a weekly alarm to log in and refresh your houses if you have to, but I promise you, you will want to play again one day.

My vote would be to delete it all and record it. The video that @merlin8666 posted a while back of deleting all of those characters with banks full of riches made a much bigger impression on me than any IDOC ever will. There's already enough hoarding on this shard (or any UO shard for that matter), and I don't think the big IDOC guilds would starve.

This is just my personal opinion, but if you think that you will ever want to play again my advice is to get rid of everything you have. To me, the joy of UO doesn't come from what you own, but how you come to obtain it. I am personally not active at the moment, but every time I think about playing again I feel that the only thing that would make me interested would be to completely start over.

Bank the main goods... try to sell some other goods that will not fit at your bank... or try to sell your house with everything inside...

what remains,, give away or let decay in a public event.... i think you banking what you can you are saving lifetime.. you spend time to get that..

who knows in 20 years your kids would not be interested in play a bit on UOR like the father.. they would start one step ahead.

    I have considered:

    1. Sell off high end, unobtainable items (anni masks/sandals, server births, etc.) to give someone else the chance to own them (who might otherwise never be able to) and delete the gold/plat/hcoin as a sink. i.e. Lutz approach except break out a handful of the top items so it doesn't require 200 mil to win the auction.

    2. Divide belongings between 2-3 houses (e.g. house 1 with gold, house 2 with anni stuff, house 3 with everything else) and IDOC or drop concurrently giving more people a chance to get something.

    Good luck

I donated most to the fishing contest. It's an cheap and easy way for new players to earn a start without simply handing them stuff. I kept a few pieces and my ethys and runebooks in case I came back one day.

Set a valuable item on the ground at a random location. Hide and watch a random lucky bastard find the item. Smile as they run off with it. Repeat.

    this

this. theres so much wealth in this shard that deleting stuff is better for the wider economy. though unobtainable items you should sell, I do regret having deleted anni dyes as noone can enjoy them.

as for the argument of "keep stuff. you may need it". dont worry, it's so easy to make cash here and you will enjoy having to farm for your first blessed runebooks again.

I could vote for all options.

Do what you want. Tis your loot. You could to all options or none of them.
My advice is do what works for you - time/effort/motivation.

As an IDOCer, I vote to give these items to players who run events instead, in an effort to get them into the hands of some of the newer players that wouldn't have access to IDOCing yet. Unless it's announced, where everyone has the timer and unfolds similar to the Gideongeddon drop.

Players like Zyler, Vincent Blackshadow, Quick, and Keza already host some great events, so these are players that come to mind that could turn the treasure into some fun.

    Too much work :)

But I'm very heavily leaned into the idea of getting things into the proper hands. I enjoyed chasing pixels and would enjoy getting those pixels into play so others can do the same.

I have nothing against people that refresh for years in hopes they might return. Some do. I appreciate the advice and have given the same advice when I was active. It's just been TOO long.

Thanks for the replies! My brain is churning.

I don't care about most pixels. But I want a keep. If you are selling/giving/gifting I know someone who wants a courtyard =)
