Pirate Bay Ancient Message in a Bottle Renovation
Ethereal Polar Bear solid price tag and a new tram. Great job Chris & co. The updates are very enjoyable. Thanks for this. God Chris bless UOR!
5,000 x 5,000 = 25m HC has been hovering around mid 3's for the last several months. I assume it'll go up a bit as we get closer to mid December. Probably around 17-20m value with the price tag in screenshot. Either way, I am 100% sold after seeing it in-game. Great updates!
To clarify... EC is open 24/7 via regular moongates. The green town gates will pop up only for scripted events (CTF, etc)?
Chris's post says: "- The event center gates will only appear when scripted events are running. - Outside of those situations players will need to use moongates to access the event center." People's "concerns" with the EC is safe trammel trading and banking and idling. Not the green gates themselves. 24/7 access via green gate in town or public moongate is essentially the same. I was just trying to clarify if I read it correctly, that the although the green gates will pop up for scripted events, access to EC via public blue gate will be 24/7. Welcome back! But the point of his post is that's how it will work once the patch is live. It's not yet live.
Pretty sure he's right. Chris has been saying for a while now that with this patch, there will be an Event Center option added to the blue moongates. So there will be access any time from there.
<<< if this is true, then this is bad because trade will continue to take place in a zone where theft is impossible! I would vote for the automatic opening of green portals, only for the duration of events, in order to at least slightly increase banking traffic. After all, trading in a bank through a trading window is also safe and an item after a transaction cannot be stolen for a short period of time. ... of course people are tired of low-skilled thieves who use theft skills frivolously and only make people nervous for no reason, bad, bad ignorant! Bad effect on the noble and respecting the profession gentlemen crooks. The low ones do not think about the factor that every unfortunate little thing interferes in the future with noble lovers of the profession. The thief should respect his victim as much as he should and think about maintaining a healthy ecosystem of thieves of associates. And the fact that some have a set of thieves' skills and use it frivolously, nevertheless indirectly, but introduces them to the profession, only the quality should influence the result positively, and there is little quality and respect on the part of low, always annoying individuals. Let them try irl to approach a passer-by and obviously start checking his pockets, no, it's scary! Blunt griefers. (Well, okay, I've already moved off the topic, but still!) The event is a green gate, no event, no green gate! More freedom for professional thieves!
Yes. This was the main concern of most people. Not that the "gates are ugly" and we want them gone. But the EC is trammel and we want it limited. I am just trying to understand from @Chris if the blue public gate option is there 24/7? Based on these patch notes, it appears so. This solves the problem that EC gates had to be turned on by staff and so its less stress for an events I guess. But it doesn't solve the player base concern of a safe place to afk. bank. or trade. Still looking for clarification on when which option will be available and if I understood the notes correctly.
Yes, Green gates will be available for much shorter periods of time primarily during the signup and spectator periods of the events. Outside of those windows players can access the event lobby via the moongates.
This is a longer term project. We have slowly removed as much of the benefits of the place while still allowing it to fulfill its purpose of allowing community events. You cannot gain skills in there, cannot decay murder counts, it can affect your monthly platinum rewards, etc. We accept that it is a safe space for players, but we tried the alternate route years ago and it did not go well. So we need it, but are open to ideas to keep it from being a safe idle zone. In a recent patch we added a new feature that allows us to re-locate players when they log in solving the problem of having to boot people from the arena. So as always it is a work in progress, but needed to support our event goals, player run events, etc. It is also much easier on the staff to do 1 gate to a player run event, and then direct people to the moongates to access it. This used to be a huge timesink for the staff.
would the solution to the ec, and it nerfing thieves be, no bank in there? you gotta bring it through a public gate to go trade there? and awesome work on the amibs !!! water tiles next!!!
