Great location for starting tamers, Scorpions & Snakes until 68 skill or so! With the stat trick you can boost to 71.1 and begin taming bulls immediately! Several zoo creatures such as King Scorpion and Rattlesnakes spawn often in the desert. Easy money. Close proximity to Orc Cave "The Lair of The Orcs" which spawns the Orc Assassin boss, easy plat and gold! Also player ran events happen here, only this last week I won a 1.5mil value large tower from completing a quest from a player ran event in OC. Overall one of my favorite locations in UO:R SB 200k No BO Gold Only please. Auction ends 24 hours after the last bid.
I stumbled into said orc settlement maybe a week ago on a bard tamer and it almost cost me my lunch after I was remeinded that by default orc scouts uncloak hidden players in their proximity. I decided at said point that I should take it a bit more seriously as I didn't like the thought of attempting to navigate to my potential corpse with an alt. The assasin hit hard and there was also an "orc pyro" further down into the mine that regretfully I didn't end up killing as I ran out of regs and decided it was time to split while chugging down some GH pots as I made a quick escape by foot. I will say I could see how someone might find it difficult to remember exactly the location of the entrance that they used when coming into said cave, so adventurers take heed or beware... Just wanted to say that I thought the area worth checking out and likely a good house location
