Hey Chris, Or another moderator. I have a question regarding IRC, I'd like to keep the question private if at all possible. If you would like for me to just post here, please just reply and let me know, otherwise, let me know how else I can ask the question, thanks!!!!!
Might I suggest sending a PM and starting a private conversation on the forums as opposed to a public discussion for a private question? What is a PM you ask? Well look no further Let me Google that for you
I have sent a PM, he's a very busy man and cannot attend to my PMs at the moment. I posted here so he can just respond when time permits, in case I am off IRC.
If you search Chris in the search bar, or go to a thread in which he replied, click his name, a popup will come up, and there will be a "Start a Conversation"option/button. Click that, and you can have all the private conversations you want. EDIT: Or, you can click his name in the "Online Now" section to the right on the main forum page.
Thanks for your help. after about 30 minutes of futsing with it, i figured it out about 10 mins before you posted your reply. But i do thank you for replying
Ok...so i have waited a few days...sent an IRC PM....sent a forum PM...and i still have not gotten an answer to my question. Does anyone have a suggestion to help me resolve my question here? I'm at a loss.
I'm sorry, but i had not stated what my "complaint" was. Avery "defended" me in IRC. I was offended by her doing that. So I PM'd her. After that...I was later banned from #renaissance. So my question is...if I have a dispute with someone in IRC (that mentions me). Should I take that complaint to PM or to public #ren? I took it to PM and it got me banned from #ren, so I'm inclined to believe I should have taken the complaint to a public #ren forum. Is that correct?
I find the "R" word offensive, Please use "Special Needs" If you are back and truly here to play the game, then Welcome Back. If you are only back to create drama, then I rescind my previous statement.
Let me make sure I get it ... you got upset because someone defended you? As in stood up for you? Not really sure I understand why you would get upset about that ... I'm sure Chris is an extremely busy person - I can almost guarantee that he works a job outside of UO:Renaissance, and more than likely has a family. My suggestion: Wait. Be patient. He'll get to you when he can.
That is enough of this nonsense. Thousands of players manage to play on this server without resulting to this level of drama. You joined IRC and began to make players think you were some sort of automated bot/script system that was reporting player locations in the IRC channel. Code: [15:56:12] <Red_Rover> Character: blast (blue) - Location: Destard Entrance [15:57:42] <Red_Rover> Character: KwwB (blue) - Location: Destard Entrance [15:59:45] <Red_Rover> Character: KwwB (blue) - Location: Destard Entrance [16:01:48] <Red_Rover> Character: Theo (blue) - Location: Destard Entrance [16:09:10] <Red_Rover> Location Notifier moved to: #uorpvp I created a character named "Bot Detected", walked by your character and you broadcast that I was entering Destard in the #UORPvP channel. This resulted in an quick trip to jail as the clearly fake name was broadcast so quickly you were given a rundown of the rules, our policy on player discouragement and advised on future behavior. You were advised to simply enjoy playing here and not worry about what everyone else is doing. You were specifically told to not try to tell other players what they can and cannot do. You then proceeded to immediately tell someone in irc to "Ssshhh" which resulted in a confrontation. A moderator defended you to which you felt the need to contact the moderator and lecture her on "offending you by using your name". Code: [18:25:46] <Red_Rover> i wish the staff would let these PMs be in this channel...it would be so much more funny seeing this...only i can enjoy the comedy [18:29:07] <Red_Rover> omg...so funny [18:33:48] <Blaise> what about an eagle [18:33:58] <Red_Rover> shhh [18:34:05] <Blaise> wtf [18:34:12] <Blaise> you can't shhh me [18:34:25] <Red_Rover> yes i can...and i did [18:34:33] <Blaise> also: Rye Tricuits suck] [18:34:39] <Blaise> you tried, but failed [18:34:44] <Red_Rover> now....if you have something else to say about it...take it to PM [18:34:45] <Blaise> this is your shhh failing [18:34:52] <Blaise> maybe if you had a macro for it [18:34:56] <Blaise> you'd be better at it [18:35:09] <Red_Rover> blaise, you are discouraging me [18:35:14] <Blaise> 3x accounts, all macro'ing shhh [18:35:20] <Blaise> could not shhh me [18:35:52] <Avery-afk> don't be discouraged Red, Blaise is a troll bot Code: <Red_Rover> avery...please don't do that <Avery-afk> do what <Red_Rover> fuel the fire <Avery-afk> I'm making fun of him, not fueling any fire <Red_Rover> that discourages players <Avery-afk> Blaise is a good friend of mine, I make fun of him all the time <Red_Rover> you aren't being very nice <Avery-afk> excuse me wtf are you talking about?? <Avery-afk> if you can't take a joke, that wasn't even directed at you btw, then I think you're in the wrong place <Red_Rover> Avery, you are discouraging players...and that is not tolerate here Since you seem to want to create as much public drama as possible this is the final warning. If you keep this up you will lose access to the forums, and possibly the game server if you continue to act in this manner. I have already invested 3 hours of my time, in apparent futility, explaining the rules of the Renaissance server. In the end you either appreciate your ability to play on this free server, or you simply are here to antagonize the staff act like a child on the internet. Its up to you to decide. In almost all cases I prefer to discuss conduct with players in a private manner so the problems/issues/rule clarifications can be worked out between the player and the staff privately. When a player continues to bring up the issue in the public forum, we will address the complete situation publicly. For anyone else reading this thread our rules are very simple and easy to follow. They can be found here http://www.uorenaissance.com/conduct and here http://uorforum.com/threads/renaissance-code-of-conduct-updated-7-15-14.237/
