Hail UO Renaissance! And a Quick Question...

Hello everyone!

I just started playing on this shard last night, I spent 11 years playing on UO Second Age. So far everything is great and I have already met a couple of kind souls who helped me out with some gear, including some vanq weapons. Very generous! I just wanted to say hello to you all and I have one quick question I couldn't seem to figure out last night. I cannot see my skill gains on the screen as I am getting them. I can see my skills progressing in the "Skills Scroll." Now that I think of it, I don't think I have seen any of my Stat increases either. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

So I noticed I am seeing Stat increases, but still don't see any skill increase text on the screen. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

I’m not near a computer right now otherwise I would post a screenshot for you…

I’m assuming you’re using the new razor client, if so, just scale the skill notification bar all the way down to 0.

This will notify you at every 0.1 skill gain.

Did UOSA finally give up the ghost?

It still exists but you're lucky to catch 20 people on now adays... Makes me so sad. The final thing for me that made me drop it was actually kinda alarming. I found a GM on the myuosecondage player listings in a player led guild. Like it showed his avatar with the red hooded robe and all. I thought it was strange so I asked about it on Discord and was told it was nothing and not to talk about it anymore. When I persisted in asking for an explanation I was banned from Discord and told in-game that if I talked any more about it my accounts would be banned and deleted.

You made the right choice in coming here, UOR is pretty cool and more professional than uosa. I wish I had made the jump earlier from uosa in 2014, it was in decay even then.

Please don't remind me of that "Golden Age" it's honestly heartbreaking. </3

Isn't Sgt. Pepper a counselor in game and a player too?

Counselors don't have that many powers and are primarily for greeting and answering pages I think. I'm not sure they can even see invis players but I could be wrong. I don't think they are required to stop playing since their counselor char can't really do all that much if I"m remembering correctly. Anarcho is the top GM on UOSA now with full admin powers and appeared to be in a player run guild. From their reaction to Annabell's inquiry, Anarcho didn't want that getting out to people. Very shady.

That's right. Anarcho used to be a player, but is now one of the main GM's. Of, I think, two. But being in a player made guild seemed very strange to me and if anyone knows what it might mean I'd love to hear opinions.

Yep.. that shard was completely T O X I C ! ! !

They allowed a certain Player to control the whole shard -- for whatever reason.
Everyone knew what was going on. He bullied and disrespected everyone in Discord to the point it was not acceptable.
But no GM's did anything about it -- until it went too far. I understand now that he ended up getting kicked off the
shard and all his stuff went IDOC. Def ..... too little too late -- that Shard is now Officially D E A D ! ! !

The ultimate FINAL straw was after they changed the magic weapon multiplier to almost 0% on the Terrathan Warriers in Tera Keep. Several of us reached out to the GM's to let them know and alluded to the fact that this was what was keeping us on UOSA -- we tried several times to reason and every time we were dissed.
That was my sweet spot. Going to Terathan Keep and killing the Terathan Warriers for their magic weapons.

I left at that point realizing it was too toxic and was getting me frustrated -- a game is supposed to be enjoyable , not toxic

The "certain player" was Vega right? Yeah he was basically the last straw that killed the server I think. As you said, he was eventually banned for having more than three accounts to get event rewards, after several warnings. But it was too little too late in my opinion.

Just wish I had given up on it sooner honestly. This server seems to be much like SA rules, but with actual people to play with.

Making hemp a GM was weird move, but I had already quit by then.

I just want to know what possible reason there could be for a GM to join a player guild... I can't think of anything that isn't bad.
