I'm toying around with the idea of adding discord to my scroll runner, since disco is a great skill. The problem is, there's very little room to have a disco/provo/dexer ... and no room at all for LJ. I'm curious what people's experience is with disco/provo dexxers in instances. The problem I have is that all my big boy slayers are axes. My katanas are all meh... and I've never collected any fencing slayers. On paper, an axe, even without LJ, will still do great on a higher-AR target , but katanas clearly outclass them on lower-AR mobs. Of course, I figure having the ability to miss less swings is always nice. So, I figured I'd ask for opinions before I get rid of lumberjacking. My scroll runner currently has:
I still think that our friend was counting on a constructive thread and would like to develop this topic. Therefore, in a manner unusual for myself, I will share my opinion based on my Swordsmanship Peace Dexxer. I don't instance and don't get spins, but sometimes I hunt with my dexer and have 90k+ an hour. Therefore, I may not get into the branch as I would like Blendax. Magery Musicianship Peace Swordsmanship Tactics Anatomy Healing I cannot fully reveal the intricacies of this character's game, because his game should not be public.Working with high-level axes and katanas, I cut butter with a hot knife and this character's damn specialization is aimed exclusively at productive solo performances. The character can hide without the use of magic and in the absence of a line of sight skill in 86% of cases. This is the seed for inquisitive minds that I do not talk about. A reference to the year 2000. This guy isn't my only dexer because dexers are pretty damn fun to play. As far as combat skill choice, I always play with bladed weapons and choose Swordsmanship. Hunting in an open and brutal world, concentration is gaining maximum momentum and keeps you on your toes, because you can have 1.5-3 million weapons in your hands. And so, the driving force of this character is foresight, caution and constant tension so characteristic of Felucca! 2 ghosts work with this character, always ready to warn of danger - this is real but not 100% safety insurance for my weapons! (If you have any questions about ghosts, contact Chris and he will provide answers about the legality of your actions!) This build contains the classic 90/90/45 tracksuit and works flawlessly. Unfortunately, this is only 25% of the general information on this dexer, but if you read carefully, then I still treated you to dessert. I love the clever approach some of you have with your characters and you Sir Blendax are one of those people! Fabulous. Instance games are good and fun, but as a supporter of the holy Ultima, I will always be there and only where I am in direct danger! all kill - no skill Regards, Kir.
This is like a company asking if you suspect something unethical happening within the company and directing them to a dead line of communication.
Thanks, as always, for your thoughts, @Kiryana ! Much appreciated. I really liked my old peace dexxer. I may have to build a new one. They're a lot of fun, and VERY versatile.
What would be your base DPS loss moving to disco from LJ? What scrolls would this be targeted for? I've seen and heard that disco is useful...to a point because scroll bosses seem pretty resistant to musical stuff. But if you do decide to move on from axes....I know this guy who's interested in what you may be parting with.
The DPM loss would be lik 140ish damage if i swing an axe without LJ... I'm just curious if being able to hit 20% more often would make up for that. Haha... I'd still keep my nice axes. *That 140ish number is based on elves. I'm not sure what it would be for pirates.
Well if it wasn't such a pain to raise back up I'd say swap and test it out for science. Not saying your thought process is bad, but with disco and provo you are now tying two skills to the same cooldown timer. So while it's useful against say, the grinch, I don't know how useful it would be in larger elf provo situations. Against, just my thinking but I imagine if I was to do swords only with no LJ I'd want to have a hally/bardiche as the big damage dealer in those situations. Also, WTS bardiche of power and dark elf slayer ^.^
Very valid point, and one of the biggest drawbacks to a "pure bard" toon... If you fail a discord attempt, you can't do much for 16 seconds! I guess I'm curious about disco/provo dexxers because most of the best times on amibs are that build... and anything to make them (amibs) go by faster is good in my book.
A lot of peeps use mace fighting with a provo/disco dexer. With a war hammer you have crushing blow, and major stam loss. Combined with disco, pretty great.
For pure time, LJ is best, i have a disco Scroll runner with fencing. the idea is to Provo everything, Discod mobs do less damage to each other. if your going for full out time, LJ is the only way to go, I like my disco though to for bosses, even though, getting disco off is hard on most of them
I'll have to try my provo LJ in AMIBs... My big concern is that the lack of magery will be bad news if I die and can't invis. I'm terrified of losing equipment. I usually use my lucky charms dexxer... Because i hate kiting the bosses, but I'll have to try it out, I guess!
I have 0 magery on my guy and ive ironmanned all scrolls. Always carry an extra loadout or 3 in a bag in the packy... Pots/Instruments/Weapons just to corpse recover
all this being said, i do wish i would have gone with Macing. i think the stamina drain would be worth it and the crushing blows, id hate to spend another 10-20m on macing slayers hahaha
I tried the AMIBs with a provo macer... They were tough... Especially the green one. I just couldn't damage the boss fast enough. After 2 2-hour long attempts, I gave up.
i've ironmaned everything with no problem. swords/provo/disco only i havent tried is krampus & ww, sure i could tho. I have heard good things about the lj bonus. never used it to know whats better. you want to stay the fuck away from the casters until you suppress them or you figure out why quick
