Player Run Bounty System?

Hello All,

I've been throwing around in my head an idea. A way for PKs to have fun and earn gold.

I've never been a fan of having toons sitting idle on a server to earn a prize, so I want to make my toons "work" while they are online.

Here's what I've been thinking.

I will set the characters that I am not using at "hot spots". When I see a blue, I will offer a bounty on them. This bounty will be given in an IRC channel that I have created. If you are able to kill said player and present me with their head, I will give you gold. I was thinking 10k per head, but it might be more or less, depending on how much participation there is.

Just a note...NONE of this will be automated! This will all be done manually. I MAY create mIRC macros to aid in the posting, but I will be at the keyboard!!! There will be no information flow from UO to mIRC! I will delay my posting in IRC as posting immediately can be construed as botting.

So...are there any PKs interesting in earning gold?

Can you please tell me what could be made better? What to include? What to eliminate?

This sounds no better than ghost camping and would just drive people (especially new players) out of pvm.

I know this for a fact, from first hand experience....

The act of PKing players while they are PvMing drives people (especially new players) out of pvm.

The ghost camping or providing bounties has nothing to do with driving players out of pvm.

Also, for what it's worth, the characters that I would place in these locations would NOT be ghosts.

Until I come around and make them into ghosts.

Why do PKs forget that there are wandering healers?

Eliminate the whole idea. Start from scratch and think of ideas that will add to the shard, not detract.
OR continue on your oddly amusing trolling agenda.

I am pretty sure I know what your agenda is but are you trying to get reds to kill random blue players who are farming or one of your own that you have placed at said location?

Reds don't need encouragement... murder is its own reward.

An information pipeline that offers blues a chance to hunt reds would be way more fun, but very unlikely to succeed as reds hunt in pairs, minimum, and come and go quickly.

We don't. That doesn't mean I won't come around and get you again, and again, and again. Your heart or liver is enough loot to attract me.
