It was on OSI before they implemented destroying things with axes. Something about players barricading the entrances to Trinsic...
it was a really memorable town invasion event on OSI preUO:R. I remember everyone rushing to trinsic when the undead were forming outside, and the guilds were setting up archers on the walls of trinsic, and the entrance they had laid down sacks of flour and haystacks and such as barricades. The event went on for weeks I think, it was a lot of fun. The undead leaders were played by GM's so the bosses were live opponents that interacted with you. kinda the last time i remember UO feeling right before dumb changes. Now you'd have to take all those pictures, remove 90% of the players and stuff the screen with dragons.
It is crazy that pet polar bears in those screenshots outnumber dragons by 3-to-1. And all the people on foot...
I was there! *proudly displays medal* (chessy) Ju'Nar even ambushed me as I approached the town via sandbar from my house. The brave fencer Phaedrus and his good buddy Godric.
Aye... it makes me kind of sad inside. Edit: ALSO!!! Dread lords barricaded Trinisic in massive piles of furniture before T2A was out and back then you couldn't axe furniture......... they added axing furniture because of that incident.
That was a blast! Vlar and I lived right outside Trinsic at that time. Pretty awesome to have the most action you've seen in the game right on your own doorstep. 'Course being the first to face down a GM controlled villain 2v1 was pretty cool, too. If I recall correctly it was't exactly a fair fight, though.
I didn't fight mallabelle but I did run into Juo'Nar, all I remember is running to a stables to invis myself and he ran in and started EQ'ing. I think I recalled out.
Dalavar, I had to go back up through the pictures and count the dragons and polar bears... turns out you weren't just making up ratios!
Genocide's been around Skara doing what he does, and I had a perfect trap set up for him earlier and the drags wouldn't attack him and it failed and he was victorious. Later he tries to accost one of my thieves and loses his pretty spear and in the heat of the chase allows himself to be lured into certain death. Fun stuff.
