Why do certain lore/knowledge skills raise slower than others?

I recently created two characters on two accounts and macro'd anatomy and eval int at the same time on both of them. By the time eval int gets to 100, anatomy was around 97 on both characters. Can anyone explain this?

I'm just wondering really, lol. I heard back in the OSI days that the number of people with the skill, or online using the skill at the time, affected the gain of the skill ever so slightly. Is this true?

I dont think so. I think that was just luck of the draw. Given a large enough sample size I think they would bot GM at the same rate. I could be wrong.

#1. For lack of a better way of putting it, there is always an element of "randomness" to how quickly your skills gain. Two exactly identical characters could be doing exactly identical things in order to raise a certain skill, but because of the "randomness" factor they will not gain at the same rate.

#2. That was true on OSI during certain periods of time. That is not in effect here.
