someone should write a guide to looking good :p

When you guys buy rare and blessed clothing, how do you take care of it? Do I need to buy tons of powders of fortification and etc?? Was wondering about how all this aspect of the game works

My understanding is: as long as you wear at least one piece of armor, your clothing should never take damage. The only exception being the head slot. Headwear will take damage and eventually break if you don't use fort powder on it.
Also, footwear never takes damage regardless of what else you may or may not be wearing.

You've tested this? I thought you at least needed pants on to protect sandals.

Until Telamon added the Arms Lore cheat to the website, players needed to use their skill to check the condition of masks and sandals. :(

Thanks, all info is appreciated. How do you know how many fort powders or whatever can be used ? (fort powder adds more durability charges right?) and etc

I don't want to lose my stuff being slapped by a mongbat or from someone with a sense of humor like myself lol

Every charge adds 10 HP and 10 Durability (HP Capacity), up to but never exceeding 255/255 HP/Dur.
When you reach max, you may or may not get a message indicating such. Regardless, the item will no longer take charges when it has reached it's maximum.

If you keep it equipped, you can just check the website regularly to keep tabs on the repair level.

Arms Lore does not give you a Max durability check anymore. There is a thread in Bug Reports about it. It gives you a message indicating how busted something is but not the max durability.

Yes, I understand and applaud you for your thread/bug report. I never looked for max durability messages before. I did, however, use my Arms Lore skill to check the general state of disrepair of friend's masks from time to time.

You get a message at 255/255 and no more powder will be used. The only thing you need to powder is masks.

This is not accurate, unless you are strictly referring to masks. Certain weapons do not give you any message, they just no longer take further charges. I'm fairly certain I've seen sandals with damage too.

You like blessed weapons, Weigraf likes stacking cloth and I like to be able to thank or curse Dalavar after I get my weapon back based on whether or not he fortified it... You hating? You sound like you hating... I'm pretty sure I just piggy backed off that bug report thread anyway. I usually assume I fucked something up versus something not working properly.

Can we please have a thread that doesn't degenerate into this nonsense? Fuck. I just wanted a little mini guide on blessing and maintaining clothing.

    lolwut?
Not hating at all and very glad you posted that bug report as I hadn't noticed it. I did give up on caring about Arms Lore basically as soon as the website started cheating me out of needing that skill in game.

I'm still in favor of removing that data from the site unless your character/account has Arms Lore, or just remove it entirely. But only after Arms Lore gets an actual gump with full details about an item inspected (as Telamon hinted he would be doing....when I got here in Beta...wink wink, nudge nudge).

You really should work on a longer fuse... Every comment here relates to Arms Lore which is supposed to tell you how much durability an item has which will tell you if you should use more Powder of Fort on it which is how you maintain your clothing... What else did you want a fashion suggestions? Go with Pink. It will bring out the color in your eyes.

I wanted an understanding on the powder of fortification and how it worked, not another thread with people jumping on blaise's dick and him snipping back and the thread degenerating into a hissy fit like so often happens. You know when you start arguing with or against Blaise or get him fussing back it blows the threads to hell, so why start?

We just wanted the facts ma'am, only the facts.

As far as I can tell, Fort Powder's "you cannot fortify it any more" message only comes once per item. Or maybe I am mistaken. Either way, if you're powdering it to 255/255, just keep using the powder til it's not counting down the charges. You won't "waste" charges trying to fortify an item at 255/255.

    ^ fact
Related to first fact - If you are at 200/255 and you use a fort powder on the item it will be at 210/255

    ^ fact
Related to second fact - The website will tell you the durability of the items you have equipped when it updates if you select public profile for that character.

Hence the terms "up to but never exceeding"

Arms lore never gave that check here, but we know it should, thanks to your efforts.

Jack, your questions were answered long ago. What happens after that in the thread is entirely moot, unless you're interested. So how about coat that doughnut in PoF and stuff it down your cakehole. ;)

I have not, but I'm pretty sure this is what Telamon told me after my blessed bandana broke. I was confused as to why my bandana disappeared off my toon, so he educated me on the topic.
