What about adding this feature on this shard? this is how it would work : you can breed horses to gain, well, more horses, horses must have their own level from 1 to 10, if you breed 2 horse lvl 10 you might have a chance ( rare ) to get a mustang. You may say, and where this shuld happen? inside houses? of course not, all the stables could do the trick, of course you're going to pay a monthly or weekly fee to use that stable, i don't know what kind or how much a horse is here but the target for tamer would be the mustangs of course. Of course there are things to think on, like, if you got those horses in the stable they can't be stolen, you could try to kill once the player come out with the little ones ( maybe shrinked?) inside teh bag and maybe you could loot even a mustang, the horses inside the stable must be "stoned" and invulnerable, would be too easy killing them with aoe spells like earthquake or chain lightning i think ^^ What do you think?
I like the idea of horse breeding but only to provide some color variations beyond the three colors we have now. I think @Lightshade made a post about it once.
All I can say is the "Mustangs" (which were basically horses with more HP / color variation) from old sphere shards were awesome... It provided some nice, unobtrusive, end-game content for low level tamers (along with... everyone else). The 'nice' like really red reds, blue blues, and dark greys, were super rare... BUT spawning. I do think the bonding system sort of ... throws a wrench into the works though. Part of the beauty of the system IMHO was that in order to really show off your mount, you had to risk riding/losing it.
Somewhere in this thread was some random ideas: http://uorforum.com/threads/overland-spawns.4557/page-3#post-61707
To me, more colors of mounts is a no-brainer and should be added in, but that is just my opinion. As far as completely new artwork for horses, I think that would be quite neat and its not all that hard. The examples I had in another thread only took me a few minutes to throw together. Just gotta apply that across all the images that make up an animation set for a particular horse and you have a new "breed". Anyone with a bit of knowledge of Photoshop can do it.
While I agree with you that more mount colors (Telamon has proven he has an eye for particular hues that won't turn our shard into neon-never-land) is a no brainer... I disagree with the new artwork. If you want to take it upon yourself to design a horse in photoshop (keep in mind it's actually a bunch of graphics as you can face 8 directions, and there are at least 3 movement frames per direction) and apply it to your own client you can... but please don't burden my eyes.
Mindless, there's no such thing as low-level anything. No sense building content for one day in each tamer's life while they train up to nightmares. Same reason no one's riding Frenzies outside of RP.
You are right... in a sense. My point was more that the content could benefit everyone... ESPECIALLY young/newer tamers. Unlike frenzied, 'mustangs' [what I'm going to call the mount we're talking about], wouldn't need any taming to ride. All my humble opinion of course.
Exaclty, it's all about having nice mustangs, of course they must be "normal" colors, grey, white, black, vermillion, dark green/forest all "sober" colors, not pink or shit like that xD
I'd ride a pink mustang into the sunset while you all tear up and some sappy 80's love ballad plays in the background. Hit you all right in the feels.
lol I'd ride a pink mustang, frenzie, or regular horse. Lavender ones would be nice too. Long as not the glaring neon colors. "me eyes don't like bright neon.
If you can breed horses (chocobo's?) then you MUST have a place to take them and race!!! (golden saucer?)
I never understood Final Fantasy... then one day I saw my older brother racing some chocobos in Final Fantasy VII...woah! (pretty sure I still don't understand it... but woah!)
