It's been awhile for me starting fresh, and I seem to remember wanting to train crafting type skills somewhere close to 40-60% chance for success and going without food. Gaining off fails while loosing less resources, and recycling anything that was created. Magery training better fizzling as crafting with a high chance of fails.(less resources) Warrior Skills I believe were better trained well fed for successful hits. I haven't seen this specifically talked about in the Guides Ive read, and I am interested in what you think are the best methods for Training.
Any thoughts on the resource using skills as far as low or high % chance for fail-success? Thanks for the replies.
Again, food does not effect any gains or success chances, ONLY passive regen of HP and Stamina at Descartes pointed out.
Aye, I'm clear about the food only effecting hp-stam regeneration. The other thing I was looking for an opinion on was on magery for example, would it be better to cast the highest level spell as soon as you hit the minimum req skill, and fizzle a lot or cast a higher percentage spell that was still mildly difficult? Or in Crafting for another example, would you want to make the hardest thing you can as soon as you hit the minimum skill req and fail more, or make a higher success item? Gaining better off more fails and some success, or gaining better off less fails and more success? Make sense, or am I just off in wonderland?
That's a complex issue and there are several guides. Smithing guide for example has like 4 different methods tough to say which one is best.
Thanks for your responses Alex, I am reading multiple guides from multiple sites. In the grand scheme of things there is probably not a lot of difference, but I like to get other opinions. Sometimes little nuggets of wisdom get dropped.
Actually, AlexCCCP is correct about the passive hit point recovery. I'm not sure if it also affects passive stamina recovery as well.
I don't care what anyone tells me I feed my characters. Someone told me some crap back in 99 and I still think there might be secret code Telamon doesn't know about.
