How/where to dig for sand?

I decided to try to get some sand for tinkering. Doesn't seem to work like the last shard I played on. So could someone explain how it does work? Feeling kind of dumb haha

Ah. Yeah, I'm an old man and played forever ago. You used sand to make glass items. Still new to this shard. I'm usually in Mioc slaving away crafting. Figured I'd can be up my usual routine today, but screw it.

Technically I haven't quit anything. I haven't had Internet since mid December and don't reckon I'll have it until the beginning of march.

Also, comstock, you're in luck for your sand mining operation if you already hangout in minoc, as Blaise's residence is just north of there. So it would only be a short run back to the bank after you pull out of the sandy vortex that is Blaise's vagina.

As you have heard we do not have sand. I am curious, what era does sand come from? I played OSI t2a/UOR but have never played on OSI or a free server after the UOR era.....

If you play on any zulu shards, you mine or dig sand. Then you smelt it into raw glass that can be tinkered into glass items like potion bottles or other glass items that usually fetch a good profit.
