I'm sorry but I have to say something...

I took him up on his offer, because it sounds great, right?

I was too trusting with the trade and didn't bother to inspect the "mask" before I completed the trade for 500k. It wasn't until after the "mask" was in my pack that I realized that I had just purchased a 500k bone HELM. I immediately PM'd him back to explain that this was a bad trade, although hesitant at first he did eventually return my gold and I gave him his 1109 Bone Helmet back.

I don't want someone else to make a mistake, so buyer beware. I see he's still trying to sell it as a bone mask in trade channel so I feel it's necessary that I warn everyone here. I explained the difference to Xavor in PM and he's still describing the item as a mask.

FYI: You cannot apply a CBD to a Bone Helm. The fancy blessed ones you see in game are Bong MASKS. They appear the same but are not, one is armor and one is clothing.

The continuation of his efforts on IRC after Cynic outed him makes me think that banning or suspension is in order. I'm not sure the exact policy and I know that Telamon often gives warnings first, but this seems like a continued effort.

It's just the server rules, you can scam someone in game (to an extent) and you'll never so much as get talked to. Using IRC/forums to help you scam is simply against the rules.

That's a pre patch runebook. You can't name runebooks like this anymore and it looks exactly like a blessed runebook.

I dye this sucker and advertise it for sale at 1.5M and I'll have a spam of PM's. The first time you realize I scammed you is when you die and your runebook is gone. There is NO WAY to "check shit" in regards to this runebook. My example may be an extreme but it's crap like this that force the staff to create, what some may consider trammel-esque, rules.

Scamming via forum or IRC is not allowed. Nothing more to say in this matter. Causa Bong Mask closed, Pill.

EDIT: It is trammel-esque, Cynic. There is good reason for it and while I don't disagreee with alot of the rules here, they still aren't Fel accurate and kind of protecting people from their own stupidy. For example, buy valuable stuff only from trusted people. If the deal is way to good, be overcautious. E.g Xavor has been on my untrustable list for a long time and without even doing a single trade with me. It's because he is a buy-and-direct-reseller and tries to press out way too much money out of trades.

Ya I can understand your point there. Just seems like there has been a mighty amount of Trammelizing going around lately and IMO UO is just a rough rugged place. That's what makes UO, UO for me.

I absolutely agree with you, it was my fault. I'm lucky I convinced him to give my gold back. I was too trusting with the trade because, hey, it looked like what I was intending to buy. I'll never trust that guy ever again nor will I ever be so complacent with trades in the future. It was a good lesson, indeed.

Still against the rules and I felt it necessary to warn others. Telamon never received one complaint from me in IRC. I took it upon myself to warn everyone as best I could.
