@LanDarr, this was a prize for first place winners of the previous fishing tournament. First place winners (3 of us) were given beta testing coupons. AFAIK I was the only one of the 3 that owns a fort/castle so currently only Darkwing and I have moats.

The new rumor is that what you see in my picture (moat + bridge) will eventually be free to everyone that owns a fort/castle. The platinum cost will only come into play if you want to make the bridge into a drawbridge that can raise and lower through the use of a lever.
