    What's that mean?

It means until the recent events, I owned the only Cupid's Sash on the shard. Now there are several, of a rare hue and I'm bent out of shape about it.

you still have the only pink one, there are a few of these red ones, but worth getting now cause you know over time they'll dwindle away

It's a dye tub hue whereas the new ones are not. I'm taking scissor to it when I get home

since when is 338 not a dye tub hue?

Since I thought it was 1338, but I was mistaken. Oh well.

I'm not upset at all that there's now 22 more of an item that was completely unique for over a year.

    /end sarcasm

Thus is generally the fate of holliday rares.

Yeah? Name one holiday item spawn that was extremely rare and then spawned en masse the following year.

    I'll wait.

I've not been here very long, but every other shard including OSI. Rares have always been a risky business because you never know when they are going to be recycled. Yours is still listed as the only one on the shard cause yours is the only one of that hue.

I can go dye mine 338 and anyone can dye their 338, 26.

Also, spawning rares, sure. Birth rares or event drop rares, I don't think had much of a recycling in history. Granted, I wasn't into rares at all on OSI but I'm fairly certain that once an event happened wherein rares dropped, they did not use those again in future events.

I could be mistaken, but either way, this once utterly unique sash is about as worthless as a piece of Leprechaun clothing now.

I'm sure Jack loves someone calling his auction item worthless in his thread.

There were quite a few rares on OSI that had the graphic recycled. Typically during an expansion. The open book, mallet n chisel, stacked books, etc. I had the rare version of several items that got devalued. Statues, black dye tubs, furny dye tubs all got devalued when they became easy to get and common. I know the owners of hay weren't happy when it became a daily spawn outside Khaldun or the owners of broken chairs when they became spawn rares in Ilshenar. It's been happening in UO forever.

Statues of the same name? Dye tubs don't have names, and neither do spawning rares.

Also Huzke, I'm sure I don't care, so stuff it. Technically I said 'as worthless as', not implying it utterly worthless, but on par with other high number item drops.

I see. Your point is that examples of high value rare items becoming common and devalued throughout UO history don't count because they aren't YOUR item. Being YOUR item makes this case special. Gotcha. My point remains the same, suck it up Princess, it happens.
