Tamers being OP is era accurate. I don't think there is much that can be done while not messing the game up more. There is only one thing I would change - a nerf to dragon fire breath. Currently, if you know how to work the fire breath timers (which isn't hard) you can get insta kills with two dragons and a mare - and this is not era accurate because we have more control spots now than we did in this era. It would make life easier on everyone else if tamers couldn't one shot them.
Welcome to the same issue which has plagued 'free' shards since 'free' shards were first made available. I will be interested to see how this conversation pans out when taming is implemented into an exclusive PVP build *if not already*, I know this type of build is possible here and even considered making it myself, then you would see an influx of activity on the forums, not very positive either . Before that even takes place, the first port of call would be to try and regulate damage done to players through dragons and mares, specifically their flame attack, as for farming PVM, it is very doubtful there will ever be a successful way to reduce the overall effectiveness of tamers.
Something many if you have failed to consider is that some of us use farming with tamers as our only alternative play style, it's literally all that keeps me from constantly stalking the dungeons on reds. So let me be the first to say, nerf my tamer and I will relentlessly murder every player I can possibly find during my play time. It'll even be easier since tamers are the only farming template that are difficult to solo pk. Inb4 anti kane forum hate
Ok, not looking at nerfing tamers in this conversation, just adding risk. So leave bonding slots, fire breath, etc all the same. I do like the idea of making a certain number of deaths before a bond wears out though.
By causing bonding to fail we could also keep the economy alive. As it is now we are approaching the ceiling of the tamer quest usefulness. Once all tamers have run the event for their umpteenth time, there is little incentive for them to keep doing it. Allowing bonding slots to perish after 3rd or 4th Death is a good risk and stimulant to the economy and I don't think should put tamers in an uproar. If things keep as they are the only people doing the tamer quest will be new tamers and they will find it more and more difficult to find anybody interested to help them. I'd predict 4-6 more months?
fine - don't get rid of bonding - Make pets last 4 deaths! I can get behind that. Saves the content, gives reasons for pk's to kill pets, etc.
