Currently any Sosarian homeowner who's house is at a maximum of 2 tiles to the mountain can draw up ore elementals from their roof and the elementals will spawn right where your miner is standing, inside. This is showcased here :

This is not the only house that can do this. Any mountainside house with a roof that is near a mountain can be adapted to copy.

Proposed Solution: Do not allow gargoyle pickaxes to be used if the player is in a house region.

On the other hand, I do find this kind of awesome.

I think, it will be adressed. But an official statement would be good, too.

I don't care either way as I am not into battle mining or anything but I will say ouch for @Infantry on his recent purchase if that does happen!

The one thing I would say is considering you can mine from roof areas, wouldn't it make sense that you could do this as well?

I certainly understand the issue people have with this capability though.

I don't think, that it was a major buying reason for Infantry. It's only few ore veins anyway.

Ya the bringing the spawn into the house from surrounding areas would probably be more the reason. (I hadn't thought of that factor).

Now since you can just lead spawn into a house is there really much difference between that and them spawning right on your roof? Aside from when you lead it into your house your still just as protected as if you were on the roof once it is inside.....

I've already discussed this with telamon via irc and was told this will be fixed so that they cannot spawn inside a house region.

Well, since it's my picture there, I feel obligated to chime in. Considering how long this has been possible, I didn't realize that this was something new to folks (similar to how you can harvest lumber and fish from some homes).

In the month that I lived there, I used maybe three gargoyle pickaxes from the roof. There were only two veins that could be mined, and it was simply more lucrative to mow down the golems.

A change to the system wouldn't have made a difference to me if I had kept the spot, and won't make a difference to me now, but if @Infantry feels cheated, I'll be glad to make things right with him.

My friend Rezon, I in no way feel cheated, and I am humbled by your willingness to "make things right". Since my purchase of this home I have spawned maybe 20 elemental creatures from my roof. I prefer to bring them into my home and let my archers work on gaining some skill from killing them.

Being able to spawn the elementals from the roof or not would have no effect on my game play and would not be a factor for myself. It was fun to spawn a few and kill them but in all reality it is more work than just bringing them into the home.

I have obtained one statue all ready, about 26 plat, and 1000's of ingots. I am not a very fast player since having a few of those TIA strokes and I need to do things a little slower than I use too.

This is an amazing home and I for one am totally satisfied with the purchase.

Ya I mean this is not even an "issue" in the way that while theoretically possible, I don't think people really do it. I am more opposed to it on a philosophical level.
