Can anyone offer tips or a guide to raising meditation? The wizards hat trick doesn't work. I have 75 magery and 100 mana.

Hey Shadowreaver. Med is one of the easiest skills to GM here on UOR as it both passively and actively gains. This means by using the skill it will gain but also when not actively using the skill med increases as your depleted mana goes back up to max.

The wizards hats do work here on UOR. I would imagine you are using a regular wizards hat. You need to go to an NPC mage shop and buy a magical wizards hat. Once you have that all you need to do is set a macro where it equips the hat which raises your int. You will passively gain med as your mana goes from 100 to 105 which is what the magic hat increased it to. Then just unequip and reequip. Rinse and repeat. The delay you will need between will decrease as your med gets closer to gm and you can just decrease that a bit via razor. Hope this helps!

I am using a magical hat, taking it on and off, waiting for mana to raise, but still no gains

It may just be slow then. I'd rather focus on training magery and seeing meditation raise itself with that.

What are you wearing? What duration are you talking about? Set the macro, leave it overnight. A watched pot never boils...

What's your meditation currently at? Also check to make sure you aren't at the 700 skill cap by toggling "show real" in your skills UI, or that you have skills set to go down if you are at the cap.

I had one char get stuck at about 20 using the hat method for some reason. I was macroing med with the hat method, herding for str, and hiding at the same time. When it got stuck I removed hiding from the macro and added Use Skill: Meditation instead for a couple minutes. That got it unstuck, so I deleted the Use Skill: meditation and added the hiding one back. GM'd med no problem after that with just the hat. Since then I've done a few other chars with just the hat (none got stuck).

Check what others have suggested here, making sure you aren't at the skill cap (and if you are have something pointed down so med CAN raise), etc etc.

Your macro for the hat should look something like this in Razor:

    Lift 1 - 0x4372F890
    Pause 1.00sec
    Equip to 0x162883 (L:Head)
Pause 10.00sec (Give it a chance to regen a mana or two. Can lower this pause to 7 or 8 later)

Just loop that and it should go fine. If you want to throw another skill in there to macro at the same time like hiding just do:

    Lift 1 - 0x4372F890
    Pause 1.00sec
    Equip to 0x162883 (L:Head)
    Pause 1.00sec
    Use Skill: Hiding
    Pause 9.00sec

Obviously the 0x43... and 0x16... will be different for your hat and head, but it should look similar to that. Good luck!

You will gm med 5 times over just working your magery up from its current level. Skip the Wizards hat bullshit and just work on gming your magery.

You want to put the hat on which raises your int. Your med skill gains passively as that new 5 mana is gained. You then remove the hat once your mana is full and put it back on. There will be no gains if you are putting on the hat and immediately taking it off.

Also if you are using a target by type in razor you must be sure you have no other wizards hat on your person and have no wizards hat in any container near you as that can mess up the target by type.

Also being as med is so easy to gain you can be sure without even using the hat method at all that you will.be gm med long before gm magery.

Put a longer pause in your macro, say 10 seconds with the hat on, then repeate the macro. If you take it on and off to fast you will get zero gains.

I have done all the things mentioned above. I've been playing this game on and off since T@A first came out. My skills are at 530 real, the hat is magical, my mana increases by 5, I looped it for 2 nights letting the mana regain for a 10 second loop. Med is currently at 48.5. I know this should work, I've done it literally dozens and dozens of times before. Never had this problem previously

Start casting and drain it to zero a few times, if you still don't gain, you missed something.
