To whom it may concern. There's a scam man at occo bank called sage offering dice games. I bet 50k and won. He never handed me a check. I bet another 50k and lost. Expecting to get 50k back. He then said I was wrong and has refused me what was won. Scam man. Regardless what he may say. I wonder if the gmed could possibly track the trades made by me and him to prove him for what he is... A LIAR!!! Tank
I think you just need to investigate your bookies better. I don't find pleasure personally in your loss, but this is not a situation that requires GM intervention. Also, the Salty Dog tavern is a place to post stories in story fashion. If you had put this together in an interesting tale documenting the encounter, you might have found some compassion from many of our veteran player base. But if you come out with your first posts as complaints you might not get any attention beyond my thoughts. I care for you sincerely, and I hope this experience has not been too bitter for you. If you are able to adhere to my freely solicited advice, perhaps try to rewrite this as a tale of a corrupt booky. And then move on. I promise you'll make 50k back easy. What you won't get is a chance to make a first impression. Finally, Please don't base your entire opinion about this shard on this one encounter. There are a lot of good folk out there. Seek out the PS guild. They can help you get on your feet. Best regards, Jupiter
Aw, I apologise if the story wasn't written in a fashion that would better suit the place I put it. I was traveling home last night and wanted to atleast get something on the forums to warn any new players like myself. I had to post it on my phone and it would let me create paragraphs etc. And I haven't let what happen affect my shard feelings in the slightest. This post was intended to warn others rather than complain about what happened. I can spend another day collecting cotton. No biggie. This post can be removed/moved if required.
Excellent Master Tank. I think this post will serve as a very good Public Safety Announcement, it was really your comment about suggesting or wondering if the GM's would track a player's trade history to intervene in anyway that caught my attention. It is a very delicate balancing act for Telamon (@Chris) to try and make sure this shard community remains strong, while not being labeled, (slanderously I might add), as a trammel shard. Already there are some factions among us who claim this shard is softer than most. And admittedly there are some aspects that could be tougher, but I think this matter easily falls on the side of the argument that it does not need to be addressed other than to alert folks of his dastardly deeds. Hopefully any new players who read your PSA will learn of the woes of handing their gold to an untested bookie. Personally I would only play a game of risk with a person with established history on the forums or with lower sums of gold (5-10k limit). I know a lot of people don't maintain a presence on the forums, but I can say that anybody who wants to establish a reputable name for themselves or for their business will find it far easier to establish this if they post their records on the forums. Best regards in rebuilding your cotton empire! Hope to see you out there! Jupiter
Greetings fellow dungeon crawlers. I want to apologise for the way in which my message came across the other day. I can only put it down to me having ingested some awful orc wine that didn't agree with me. I woke up outside moonglow stables in a nought but my linens.. After regaining my sense I jumped upon the nearest steed that a fellow travelers was willing to befriend for me. With quick haste I found the man named Sage residing by Occo Bank. After a lengthy discussion we both came to the conclusion the assumptions we both made about one were false, and in us stood no desire to be wrong the man beside us. I want everyone to know Sage is a trust worthy guy, and we came to a rational conclusion. We spent the entire evening near Occo bank drinking mulled wine and eating cooked horse meat! The juices! We gambled for a little while and at then end parted way as friends. I am surprised by this new friendship that has blossomed, and thank Ultimate for allowing this to be so. To Ultima!!
You became friends? I think you guys are UOing wrong. UO is where you only consider your own perspective and declare eternal hatred for one another. I'm pretty sure that was in the book that came with the T2A expansion.
