Hey all. I have a character that I believe is close to ready to get into factions. I have never been great with a mage PVP and was hoping I could use him. And was wondering if the dexxers hold their own out there on the field? Hes currenly. 100: fencing, tactics, anat, heal, hiding, resist 50: mage, med. Can you suggest what 7x you would expect a team mate dexxer to be out there, and possibly suggest which faction I would be best suited to? Thanks for your time.
If I had a teammate dexxer I would want him to have meditation, so most likely a med warrior (gm tactics anatomy healing fencing med magery resist). That way he could xheal and go for parablows. You don't see very many dexxers out in factions for the reason that is not very effective in battle. I see more dexxers doing Order/Chaos. Please take your time and get used to PvP on UO;R before joining factions. You definitely want to have some allies and not run around solo because most times you will not find just one enemy, but many.
Dexxers and factions don't really mix well unless you are running deep. I know there have been a few poisoning/fencers who have done alright but other than that I would roll with a stun/healer or stun/scribe mage. You're going to get really tired of having to re-equip after each dirt nap you take. It will chew through your resources, making it a royal PITA to keep supplying your dexxer with decent gear and all the other shit you have to pack in order to stay competitive in the field.
Only template I would consider is fencer tank you'd be much better off with a stun/inscription mage. Heal stun mage is slightly more versatile but less desirable for faction pvp the way it is here. If you over extend to get a wack in your going down against a good group. Only time I'd try to use a tank is in smaller team size (1 or 2 v) chase be chased scenario. If your not in the largest faction group your main problem you'll have is minimum three people trying to repeatedly stun you and 5-8 combos or straight up ebolts. Stun is huge here and makes all the difference. Not that you can't stun with a fencer but, your at the mercy of a chance that one of your blows will stun eventually versus drink red pot and try again as soon as swing timer is reset on wrestle. If you insist on playing a fencer more power to you it can be done. Some are better dexers than others for sure. If you get a half decent fair fight you'll have the upper hand once they run down their mana.
Aw fantastic thank you for the reply. I have a mage I am currently working on. I don't suppose you can suggest the best 7x? And perhaps which faction would be best suited to joining to learn the mage field basics?. I have read and watched a lot of material lately but of course that is miles away from actually taking part in any. Someone suggested staying away from factions as a PVP learning curve. But I feel jumping in at the deep end is the best way to go. Thanks in advance.
I would join an Order guild as there aren't many Order pvpers. You can find a lot of Chaos characters, including the Orcs! If you join a faction, only members of your faction can res you or a healer. Chances are you will be killed and do not res by the healer in town because people will kill you for the faction point.
With the returning of the Orcs we have a lot of chaos folks indeed. I also loved to play Order, since the O/C System leaves more space for space for RPers than Factions. If you want to pvp as a dexxer and participate in O/C fights i would suggest you to contact these people: RP- Order: Stormhold Knights, @Vlar RP- Chaos: URK, @Xegugg PvP- Order: tNL, Axiom on IRC PvP- Chaos: Balla Additionaly i would like to get a post with active O/C Guilds going. If you want to participate, please pm me
