In one post (between two of yours, surprising that you missed it) a post is made where a player says he must be a scumbag if such and such behavior makes him one.
Then there's a long conversation about "honor among theives" - being a thief isn't a good thing, by the way. That idoccing is a less than noble endeavor is a common theme in this thread, you should reread it if you missed that.
Even then, I am entitled to my opinion that idocers are scumbags and I don't really think that holding such a view is inviting personal attacks upon myself.

And yes, the community here is often intolerable. The level of venom and hatred is often quite over the top. I wish people dealt with competition a lot better than they do. You shouldn't hate your enemies, in a game like UO they're your source of entertainment.

The only people accusing idoccers of being less than noble are you and your cohorts. They pick up shit that's going to decay, how is this so terrible? They profit on people who quit or forget, sure, but it's not like they go out of their way to make people do so. If these were a band of guys who looted houses I could see that argument sticking. "Honor among thieves" is a metaphor. I'm not classifying idoccers as thieves, looters, graverobbers, or anything else you wish to label them as. The metaphor was to try and illustrate how idoccers have a secret code within that circle. If I used "snitches get stitches" would you have understood that better?

The level of venom and hatred often does go over the top and I won't sit here and say it's been one sided. What I think ends up happening is some people, on both sides, can't deal with the shit talk and sometimes it goes overboard. I stay out of UORPVP for a reason and it's because it gets so thick in there that, you're right, it's intolerable. I don't understand how something as simple as, "you got wrekt" turns into "you're a liar", "you're mother's a filthy hooker, (insert racial slur here)." Both sides are guilty of it.

This is about the easiest thing to understand: the people involved have very fragile egos.

To be fair, you called Erlkonig slimy, and then I called you a hypocrite, and that's what started this mess. (Sorry)

It's so interesting how a game like this can be so many different things to different people. The talk about venom and hate in the community is just about the opposite of what I've experienced. There's a thread going on elsewhere on the board about what we did when first started UOR and it's full of glowing reviews about the community. I guess it goes to show that who you hang out with and how you choose to spend your time in-game really makes a difference with how you perceive the shard.

People who fish and put small towers down for the sole purpose of putting massive amounts of fish steaks in them are slimy.
