IRC, Macros, Multiple Characters,AFK,UOAM, Scouting, Modified Clients, Gold!

What the.... What IS THIS?!

This is a hectic mess. Why do you people recommend IRC?! I wanna know. To ask questions?! No! Of course not. If I kill someone, and he asks for reinforcements on IRC, is that fair? Is that asking questions?

IRC should have a selective group of people, Staff members mainly, who somehow help few to none, with the basics! The BASICS people! Not the macros, not the multiple character shit, not the easy money....

You people hold no respect towards this game at all, NONE! You're not a UO player, you are NOTHING. If you're fed up, leave, seriously. Don't log in to go AFK for a chat session. That's a total lack of respect towards us, players. Staff memebers are responsible for this as well, for they encourage it through their ill-conceived method of recruitment. You thought this was OK, I get it, but the word is out. THIS, is NOT OK! Not even close.

And what's this thing about Macros? I've been using them, yes. I hate it. NO gameplay whatsoever. People should be banned for using them. Period. Don't have the necessary time to play the game? Fine, leave. NO need to hang around using an automated process. If you still hold any respect towards your gaming history as a Ultima Online player, leave.

Multiple Characters is somehow allowed. I don't understand how it's done, I don't wanna know. Each IP should have a total of 1 character. Yes! 1! 1 house, 1 character, period. Yesterday I got killed by two reddies, everything normal for this type of game, that's what I joined for, RISK. Problem is, they previously scouted the area with BLUE PLAYER! A scout they said. Well, you should be banned, immediately. Remeber those guys from Mount and Blade? Those who changed Factions to open the gates of the defensive castle? They said they were roleplaying as spies or something like that. Bull.

AFK people. How many are there? Uhmm, I left the young program at day 4 to pay a visit to Britain's Bank. Surprise Surprise! Only 4 people around, and ALL were AFK. Wonderful isn't it? 530 players, and Britain, is EMPTY. Makes me think that players are leaving there second characters afk, while playing with others, to somehow help the shard with false numbers. Disgusting.

UOAM? Oh look! It's another stupid application to easy the search of things, how nice. People using this should be banned. What's wrong with the maps of Ultima Online? They're poorly drawn, you say? Well, HELLO! Perhaps they've been designed that way for some roleplaying purpose. In real life, maps are never well drawn. Why take away the excitement of trying to figure the placement of things?!

I've been reading some guides recently. They all sicken me. But there is a guide that I hate very much! Some guy showing how to be a decent PK. At first, I thought, OK. Shouldn't be nothing bad here, the guy has done some really hard work to earn his moment as a Guide authority. Problem came when I read something about MODIFIED CLIENTS!

Modified clients PEOPLE! Clients that show smaller dragons, to target the tamers more easily. Clients that make cloacks smaller, so they can figure their shit out while attempting to loot a player. CHOPPED DOWN TREES! Yes people, you HEARD ME! They can easily see more than you CAN. He merely stated that most people used them, so why not him? That is BULL. Staff members say nothing. Why? I don't know. This is plain CHEAT. Simplicity at its best.

And Gold? Why does gold come so easily here? I've been around Cyclops Valley. No reds whatsoever. Making 10.000 easily, for 40 mintes or so. Where's the challenge here people? Earn gold yes, but in a slow process. Don't make me bring so much gold at home. The economy per si, is just plain absurd. People shouldn't have 30 million or less. Things have really gotten outta hand here, and Staff should do something about it.

Other than that, I can't think about anything else. I found some decent players. Most I chatted with, are all players from the initial release of this game. They all told me the same, back then, it was ALL CLICKING. No Macros, no nothing.

But to the rest, congrats. You destroyed a classic. In fact, you destroyed the only MMORPG I was really interested in.

You want a solution? That's easy. WIPE OUT the entire server. Start from new. Ban all people using macros. No automated process must supplant actual gameplay. Add permadeath to GM characters. Yes, permadeath. The intent from the very beginning of development should be to keep GM rare. Players must weigh the chance of losing all of their hard work against the chance of becoming very powerful before every action they take. If A GM is killed, he might lose not only all the time he spent becoming a GM, but also all the time spent developing the character.. Many players may not want to become a GM, that's true, however it would truly stabalize the economy drastically, plus, it would make newcomers feel less powerless, and more interested in the game. Shut down IRC, no external program should be used. 1 character per IP. Ban people using modified clients. Ban people using UOAM, if possible.

That's what I'm wondering.... some legit complaints but then there are some off the wall stuff thrown in there. If he gets that mad over UOR, perhaps he should play Hello Kitty Island Adventure instead...

Let me tell you as a osi player in the late 90's this game was nothing close to your so called desired changes, macro programs went far beyond what's allowed here and they used modified clients that went far beyond any mere graphic changes

You may want to try finding a different server that more closely emulates the things you want.

I never did. I just jammed a quarter in between the buttons, or taped them down to macro hiding and counts I got for killing wandering healers in tram.
