Hello everyone, I'm sure you've seen my avid questioning in the IRC by now, but I have returned with a passion to UO again and I've decided to make my mark. A little bit of history from me. I was a vet player on Angel Island and UOG: Hybrid, duelist and fielder. I had several reds and participated in the Council of Mages faction. I hope to be up to speed in a month with a house and a few finished characters, money to spend for resources, and out there fielding with the best. I apologize if this is the wrong sub-board for this kind of thing. That is all.
Hey, man. I just started a week ago, as well. UO: SP and IPY vet, here. If you need any help, let me know. I've finally got my chars up and running a bit so I'm in a position to now help other new(er) players. Also, join the IRC channel #PS, they're a really helpful group of people.
It was fun rolling with Check Six when they were prominent back in the day. Also ran with BreakOfDawn and Raserei. I want to relive those high intensity PvP moments. Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Yea, follow this and connect to the server. http://uorforum.com/threads/irc-connection-guide.496/ Then type in /join #PS
I just started about a week ago myself and I am actually having a fucking blast! I'm a Pacific Vet and I have played on Hybrid since launch. Glad I found this server and was able to grind it out and stay. Last 4-5 times that I have tried to get back into UO was jumping back on Hybrid and just getting so bored, so quickly and leaving.
Joining in on this - I was a UO die hard back in the 1998-2000 era, and I just got back into it this week. I can not believe that 20 years later, this is still the greatest game ever. Looking forward to adventuring with all of you at some point.
Come on irc and say hello. Nicest crowd of uo players I've ever met are on this server, whether they pvm pvp or fish!
Ok, but its white-themed in a web browser, which burns my eyes ;-) I am a linux guy that ran into troubles getting UO to run well in Wine, so I decided to roll up my sleeves and create a windows partition for playing UO. I dont have anything on this OS but antivirus, browsers, and ultima-online stuff, so I havent yet gotten programs for IRC and whatnot. In fact, I havent been aware of the microsoft "ecosystem" for about a decade, so I dont even know what a good windows IRC program is. I like XChat for linux as it is, well, easily dark-themed so yah mabye Ill be on IRC on here, but my eyes can only occasionally look at something that bright.
Welcome aboard. Enjoy your time here!! Make some friends, make some enemies and have a ball playing the game you love. If you need anything hit up @amfeKk he should be able to help you out. (I'm very busy irl atm)
Glad to see more people coming to the server. Welcome, and if any of you newcomers need help getting your feet under you, let me know. Glad to help any way I can. Also, if any of you have an rp streak, let me know.... working on building an rp guild.
I'm looking at two options right now that play off each other. I have the beginning foundations of a town laid out along the coast far to the NE of Yew, near the graveyard (subtly different from cemetery.... no undead spawn, very peaceful). There's a large brick house and a villa that I own that have been placed. A few other random houses have been dropped in the area as well, but I think I can work with them or maybe even get the owners to join in if it gets going well enough. The idea is that the "town" would have its own guild stone and members could join that. Then I have set up a special guild called the Keepers of the Watch (KoW) that will serve as the guards of the town. They'll be responsible for conducting patrols to clear monster spawn from the town and surrounding area, participating in dungeon runs and quests, running pvp tournies and training, and policing the town to keep it clear from disruptions. I'd like the Vale (the town) to be a safe haven for all players of all walks.... murderers, thieves, etc. welcome, so long as they "keep the peace" as it were. There will be laws issued such as no unauthorized fighting, no looting, no res-kills, etc. Of course, since we're outside the protection fo the guards, there will be people who break those laws, and that's where the Keepers come in. They will have a process in place for issuing warrants, arrests, trials, etc. This way the town can have reds be a part of the action by coming to just relax at the tavern (under construction) or coming to do what reds do.... break the law and spread mayhem. Hopefully enough people will be interested in joining the Keepers that it will actually be able to field a legit force to enforce the laws and pursue criminals etc. Anyway, that's a general outline...> I can post more detailed plans if people are interested. I did this set up once before on Chesapeake in Silvervale and it worked like a charm. The town even eventually developed a system of nobility, yeoman, a school of wizardry and mysticism, etc. Would like to see something similar get rolling here as well.
Alex, the Watch, and I will be on IRC to discuss further. Anyone else interested please reach out to one of us.
Welcome! P'S is here to help you on your way to making the best of this game! As many others have offered, we too will offer out help in getting you set up. We have a great community here! ~Krake
Wouldn't you know it.... my IRC is doing weird things.... I will be around for a bit in one of my personas either at Skara or Occlo.... Would love to talk. Keepers of the Watch (KoW)
