The current operating mechanic is a 2% increase for every 10 points of skill, with a bonus 10% for being a grand master in the skill. Keep in mind this is base damage. Alot of things happen from the swing to the damage application in UO. (Copy/Paste from stratics to give you a rough idea of the process, the LJ modifier is applied at the end of step 4 in UOR) 1) Determine Speed of Attack. 2) Determine % Chance to Hit. 3) Randomly determine base damage, within weapon's damage range. 4a) Determine Tactics Modifier to Damage Dealt to base damage. 4b) Add STR Bonuses to Damage Dealt to base damage. 4c) Add Anatomy Bonuses to Damage Dealt to base damage. 5) Double all Spell-damage against non-players. 6) Check for magical defenses. (Reactive Armor, for example). 7) Modify for Chance to Block an Attack with / Damage Absorbed by Shield. (Ignore if Defender is not wearing a shield). 8) Determine Hit Location 9) Modify for Damage Absorbed by Armor 10) Halve all remaining damage. 11) Apply final damage. Related Link
Why do only spells do double damage to non-players? Non-casters want double damage in PvM too. Even with slayer weapons casters still are wayyyyyy better off in PvM especially since they are safely out of melee range 99% of the time, can heal/cure on demand, and reflect spells. I'm not saying nerf mages, I love my mage..... I just wanna love my "warriors" equally.
This going to be fixed soon? i keep fanning Players and Monsters with my Axe sad when in CTF and you have 3 dexxers swinging on a mage just to see him heal through it and walk away without a scratch!
Wrestling Gives 50% to make you miss. So for example: 10 swings you might get 5 hits off 100 swings you might get 50 hits off 5,000 swings you might get 2,500 swings off. 50% chance to make someone miss balances mages other wise getting hit with a faster weapon hitting more frequently would be OP as you would never be able to cast. Two handed weapons swing slower then one handed which is why it looks like a kyrss or katanna hits more be in reality you are just getting more hits faster so it seems two handed weapons miss more because when you finally get a swing and miss you have to wait longer for another swing. I would agree on weapons hitting monsters more frequently but PVP that might just be OP if you nerf wrestling or increase weapon % chance to hit on a player because then one handed weapons would hit almost everytime and if you ever fought a poisoner fencer they hit already alot even with gm wrestling.
http://www.uoguide.com/Damage_Calculations So you nerfed lj by 1/3 and conc blow by 1/2, I think this is swordism
