Telamon said they would be implemented before the end of the year last year, and we haven't had any content since. (almost a year now)
@Chris - Thanks for the info! When should we expect the patch and what will the process be for obtaining a moat?
Love the moat options. Been wanting them for a long time. They should definately not be free though, from my perspective. I think "Specialty items" like waterfalls and stumps and changing the water to lava or swamp should be plat purchases. And the bridge itself should be maybe a deed, like a mid size house deed cost. That way we can get a little gold/plat sink out of something the 99% of all owners of homes with CYs will buy.
Since the moats are in reality a security fix and a way to negate those people who marked all cy spots before housing went in, I'd think they'd be better provided at no cost.
In order of MY preference: 1) Provide them, but only as deco tool while all previously marked runes still work. No additional security. 2) Never provide them.
I believe a big reason for the moats is partially my fault. I'm not sorry, the moats are awesome and provide peace of mind. I started the fad of adding ladders and floating table tiles in the CY. That design trick got out of hand quick. The purpose behind it was to create a floating and safe recall spot while being able to block the entirety of the CY. For 25 plat I could make any CY 100% secure. The trick caught on and anyone with 25 plat was grabbing Telamon for a CY lock down. The real problem were with the people who had mega plat to splurge and went overboard with it *cough* @elhorno *cough". In comes this great idea of putting a stop to the lock downs, not punishing those of us who were creative, and allowing future CY players to enjoy the same level of protection some of us already created. I was lucky to win a moat testing coupon and it's been awesome. It's not going to completely negate house robberies. You'll still have reckless people not protecting their CY's appropriately. I've made plenty of mistakes from my moat already.
Not that it matters. Not that I expect change. Not that I think my opinion holds value over others. There, now that the SJW's are briefed... I think these floating walkways/etc are some pretty f'd up repugnant sh*t. Anyway, yay moats... but those flags tho.
