PUBLIC RESIST SESSION BROUGHT TO YOU BY TREASUREMAN 8/22/16

ENTER AS A GHOST. STAY IN WAR MODE. GET RESED.

Do you need Resisting Spells? GM it for free! This session will be held at the O^S Training Keep, located in the player town of Alluvium, due east of Britain. The event will kick off on Monday morning, August 22nd and will end when we run out of supplies. You may enter the keep as a ghost as early as you like but casting will not begin until Monday morning.

What is a "Resist Session"?
Basically a few GM mages (Casters) line up and shoot spells at a whole bunch of people (Gainers), who gain in the skill Resisting Spells. Gainers can only enter the Training Center as ghosts, but rez's will be provided inside. A guard will be provided outside the keep for your convenience. There will also be a gate available from the event lobby.


Griefing of any type will not be tolerated and will result in the offender being removed from the premises and not allowed back in. Once you are in the gainer or caster areas, you will be locked in. Wandering around the keep will not be possible. Please stable your pets BEFORE arriving at the event. There is a stable due south of the Training Keep at the bottom of the peninsula. Mounts wandering outside the event will be sent to the glue factory.

I'm new and would like to participate. Never been to something like this and I have some questions:

1. Monday morning on the 22nd, which timezone is that? Would it be possible to get an approximation of what time exactly? (I'm in EU and might have to plan ahead)
2. What spells are cast?
3. Should I prepare in any way? Do I need my resist to be at a certain % to get the most out of the event?

Hello Paithan and welcome to UOR. To answer your questions:

1. My time zone is PST. My recommendation is to park your character in the keep some time on Sunday and wait to get rezed. You can just leave him there logged in and you won't miss anything.

2. We cast meteor swarm. This spell does small amounts of damage inside a house but won't kill you. If you set up a healing macro, you can heal someone standing near you and gain on both skills at the same time.

3. If you don't have magic resistance on your character yet, I recommend buying some from an NPC. You will need to enter the resist party as a ghost so don't bring anything with you and please stable your mount. If you're a "young" character in Ocllo right now, you'll need to renounce your young status by typing "[young" in game and leaving the island. Once the resist session is over, you can go back to Ocllo and toggle your young status back on if you wish.

Yes you need to accept the res, but once you do, there is no more interaction required from you.. It's simply just sit back and gain resist. Healing is not required for the attendees

The only thing that can go awry from that point is to lose connection. Once you log back in, you'll be outside the keep because you're not friended. You may want to check in every now and then to make sure.
