So because characters have Meditation, they deserve color options?
I'm sure that's what Aristotle was thinking.

Funny side-note and equally irrelevant to the topic at hand: The guy I bought my new Cal King bed from at Sleep Train the other day is named Aristotle.

I did, in fact, get a very good deal. Also, not in fact at all, he said in parting "Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work."

Yeah, because leather dyes are restricted to purely hide colors as found in the world, right?
Oh and because you have to jump through all kinds of ridiculous crafting hoops to get the color options on leather armor too, right?

Why is this such a hard concept for people to grasp? We've been able to have rainbow leathers for 4 years but for some reason painting metal armor is like sooooo crazy, it should be a pain in the ass?

I don't even know why I bother starting these conversations. It's like talking to the aliens from Sesame Street.

I'm opposed. I think the 9 different ore hues are sufficient. I'm a fan of preserving the 'old feeling' of UO.
However, I would like to see weapons hold their ore hue without requiring the use of runic hammers.

It would be nice to have the option to customize plate, chain and ringmail armor with guild colours. No more an eye-sore or issue to me than coloured leather armor. To me it isnt too radical a change compared to some other things that we still accept and even enjoy. Could possibly use the leather dye system or a modified version if the colour range doesnt fit?

If anything, this thread certainly identifies who the prudes are.

    Add it.

I wouldn't mind some sort of drop or bod reward that would apply some sort of magical protection on armor for dexxers that would be a replacement for having 100 resist. However, having 100 resist + said magic armor would either give 125 protection at most, or just make it pointless to have both (no more than 100 protection having both). Dexxers already have to adjust stats in an annoying way just so they don't get the crap blown out of them with mindblast in 2 hits, on top of needing 100 skill points in something (resist) that could be used for more useful skills. Orrrrrr, just give valorite armor that magic protection property, which would increase the value of the valorite sets and the ore itself. GM made exceptional Valorite armor would give you the equivalent of having 100 resist...lower quality armor gives a little less. Would probably be an easier thing to do than having to make something totally different

I've always wanted to see what the AoS armor attributes played out like, but that kinda shit would wholly imbalance the shard in ways that would never be good. Might as well go full AoS then.
@Baine why no objection to leather dye tubs then? If we're sticking with plain ore hues on metal armor, we might as well have plain leathers only. Orrrrr, since the majority of the characters get color options above and beyond that found in the wild, but within reason according to the palette of this shard, share the wealth with everyone fairly.

Honestly in the beginning (Ren era) all I played was a warrior and all I wore was metal armor. By the time I donned leather armor there were options to dye it so I just assumed that was allowed since day 1.
Trust me, I'm not a fan of some of the leather colors and I would actually be in favor of reducing the options to only ore and faction hues.
And if I was 100% positive the staff could implement a metal dye system with appropriate colors that looked good in game as well as in paperdoll, I'd probably vote yes. However, I'm not that confident.

P.S. - I've seen far too many voting threads go unanswered by the staff, even with strong community support, so I feel we are all wasting our time and energy here :/
