Recently back for another round in UOR and almost ready to stop playing again. The amount of pks is too damn high, Keeping a character logged in for a few days to burn off counts is not punishment. Skills are easy enough to macro, How about we have a system where skill loss counts do not burn off and pks have to actually do a little work to get back to where they were after they die.
Punishing PKs is a delicate balance. Too strict and nobody will bother, too lenient and the place will be overrun. Personally, I'm pretty happy with the current balance. It's not like you're really losing anything when you're PK'ed other than time (with the potential exception if you're one of the few dexxers who take slayers out for the hunt).
Every now and then I'll hear someone say "I don't count PKs, it's what they want." Wrong! If you don't count them, they won't go into stat and then death means nothing. Give them the counts
Yeah not too long ago. I do think short terms should take longer to burn just because 8 hours now is much easier to stay logged in than it was back in the day. That would be era accurate lol. Change short terms to 20 hours per, leave long terms at 40. Not going to happen, so the discussion is pretty much useless even if everyone agreed on something.
This is the most punishing server to PK's out there, hell made me hesitant to even start to play this server. keep it the way it is.
I lik going out poking and solo sniping. I do go out with a few sometimes, but only when there is another group to fight. I think harsher rules would only ultimately lead to people only steamrolling people in larger groups, in order to mitigate the risk of death. Doesn't matter though..
How about giving players incentives to going deep stat? Instead of trying to give harsher punishments. Why not just give people a reason to go deep stat.
You mean like a reward system? I wouldnt mind there being rewards if more significant risks were added however i cant think of a reward system that wouldnt be abusable off the top of my head. Longest period in stat loss without dying? Would require many different checks to avoid abusing. Total number of kills in a month? Abuseable. I'd love to hear ideas from people with more workable ideas. Though im against any reward beyond loot if the risk/punishment is not increased and if it does not in some way involve being in danger of stat-loss..atleast unless i hear a great suggestion i guess.
